The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that the new year is rapidly approaching. It was an eventful 2019 for B&B, with the big stories of the year being the Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez) saga and the emergence of Florence “Flo” Fulton (Katrina Bowden) onto the scene. But as the year winds down and 2020 approaches, it’s got us thinking about the things we’d like to see in the new year, if we had our way.
A New, Strong Man For Steffy
Something that we know tons of B&B fans are clamoring for is a new man for Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Fans are growing tired of her constant gravitation toward Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and her place in the ongoing love triangle with Liam and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).
Of course, given that Steffy and Liam share a daughter and are now in a co-parenting and blended family situation, they’re always going to share scenes and be close.
But surely that doesn’t mean that Steffy can’t go out and have a little fun. It would be great to see Steffy back out there on the dating scene and getting pursued by her choice of hot guys.
Then, after a while, Steffy could get serious with a strong male presence on the show – preferably someone new to the Forrester scene who’s a good strong character who matches Steffy’s “out there” personality.
It’s recently been reported that a new guy at Forrester named Collin (Oli Mills) will ask Steffy out, but it’s unclear whether that’s going to go anywhere. Current B&B spoilers say that Steffy will be flattered by the invitation, but whether she’ll accept is anyone’s guess at this point.
Will he be a good, strong presence who would be good for Steffy? We’ll see, and if he is, we hope she says yes!
A Romance For Carter
Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) needs a good storyline. As is stands, he pops up from time to time to offer legal advice, marry people, and draw up divorce papers. But we’d really like to see Carter get utilized on the show more, with his own storylines.
We can’t help but remember that B&B’s fall spoilers indicated that Maya Avant (Carla Mosely), Carter, and Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) were supposed to start some sort of new chapter.
But what happened to that? Did TPTB pull the plug on that storyline? We’d have loved to see Carter involved in a new storyline, and in particular a new romance. It wasn’t that long ago that Carter expressed an interest in Maya, who at the time rejected him because she was still married to Rick. Carter’s a great guy, and he’s due for a good romance – let’s hope we see one in 2020!
The Return Of Taylor
With all of the antics and manipulation that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is involved in, there’s one thing sorely missing from the picture, and that’s Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo). It seems that with all of the problems that Thomas has been having, he really needs his mom back on the scene to offer her insight and support.
Plus, it would be absolutely fascinating to see Taylor interact with Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) as she tries to go after Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye).
There are all sorts of interesting possibilities for Taylor’s character, especially since Hope, Liam, and Steffy are working to settle into a comfortable blended family scenario.
In the past, Hope was uncomfortable with the idea of Taylor being anywhere near Beth, since Taylor shot Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). That storyline could be picked right back up if Taylor were back in action on B&B as well.
Bill vs. Thomas
One thing’s for sure – Thomas has emerged as an effective antagonist on B&B. He has a real presence as a villain and has done plenty of damage to some of the main characters on the show.
But there are a couple puzzling things about Thomas as a villain. First off, he’s a master manipulator and always seems to be a step ahead of the people he’s wreaking havoc on. And Liam is doing his best to take him down, but let’s face it, Liam just isn’t his match.
It would be great to see a stronger character take on Thomas – someone who could really got toe to toe with Thomas and be more of a match in a villain-like way. And that leads us to the other puzzling thing about Thomas being a villain…why hasn’t Bill stepped up to stomp on Thomas for what he did to Liam and Hope?
For a while there, it seemed like Bill was ready to offer some serious payback on Thomas for his role in the Beth secret, but then nothing happened.
What if Bill turned his attention away from needling Ridge all the time and started going after Thomas directly? That would be some great storyline material, and let’s face it, it would be a joy to watch Thomas and Bill try to outmaneuver and out-manipulate each other. Bring it on in 2020!
These are just a few of our wishes for the new year. What would you like to see on B&B in 2020? Stay tuned to B&B and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Bold and the Beautiful spoilers, updates, and news.
