The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) exit has fans concerned about another talented performer. B&B fans know Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) went off the rails and did some horrible things.
Thomas went off canvas for a bit to find himself, but he’s heading back to the show and will soon catch up with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
However, we have to wonder what Thomas’ future looks like, especially now that Sally’s departing. Sally would’ve made the most sense as Thomas’ next love interest. Thomas and Sally both took their scheming too far – and they both deeply regret it.
B&B could’ve told a terrific story about former flames growing and changing for the better. Maybe Sally and Thomas would’ve realized they were meant for each other all along! Alas, that didn’t happen and isn’t going to as long as Sally’s off canvas.
Courtney Hope only returned to finish off Sally’s storyline with Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) and Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden). B&B just briefly brought Hope back to wrap things up.
Will Thomas face a similar fate on The Bold and the Beautiful? Whether Thomas exits again or not, it’s clear that the show won’t have much for him to do in the months ahead.
B&B Head Writer and Executive Producer Bradley Bell recently gave an interview with Soap Opera Digest, which spelled a lot of his plans. Bell even talked about things that would be happening once fall rolled around. Although plenty of other characters were mentioned, Thomas’ name was nowhere in sight.
Let’s look at a couple of concerning comments from that interview. For starters, Bell praised Tanner Novlan (Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan) as an excellent addition to the show and omitted Thomas from Finn’s new group. “This character, I think, is going to be a great breath of fresh air and will add to Liam and Hope and Steffy and the whole mix,” Bell said.
Notice there’s no Thomas in that crew! It makes sense considering Steffy is Thomas’ sister and Hope is the former obsession he’s trying to move on. There’s no opportunity for love in that group, so where does Thomas fit now?
B&B could put Thomas in a different mix – like in a storyline involving Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) – but there doesn’t seem to be room for him there either.
“It’s great to launch into another chapter with Zoe and to have Carter in the mix,” Bell said. He hyped Delon de Metz as a Zende Forrester Dominguez recast and talked about this being a “great core group to tell some drama.”
Once again, there’s no mention of Thomas. Bell even brought up a business storyline that’s brewing involving Zende as well as Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) feud with Bill Spencer (Don Diamont).
Although Bell pointed out Steffy would be stuck in Bill and Ridge’s battle, Thomas was once again never mentioned. There was nothing about Thomas in this interview at all.
That’s troubling since Sally was written out so abruptly. It certainly makes fans question if Thomas’ return stint will last! Even if Thomas sticks around, The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers alone suggest Thomas won’t be a major player in the coming months.
Thomas would be included in Bell’s preview if Thomas was going to be doing anything noteworthy.
