The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that there seem to be some dark days ahead for Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson). As B&B viewers know, Thomas has been seriously devolving in recent episodes, as he’s been imagining that the Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) mannequin has been communicating with him.
Well, at the end of last week, the mannequin instructed Thomas to kill Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), so clearly Thomas is suffering from a very serious mental illness.
Well, it seems that things are only going to get worse for Thomas before they get better. According to B&B spoilers, Thomas will end up having dinner with the mannequin, so it seems that he may start having visual as well as auditory hallucinations.
Thomas will apparently interact with the mannequin, and it should be a pretty disturbing sequence of scenes for viewers.
Well, we’ve noticed recently that at the same time that Thomas’ mental well-being has gone down the tubes, his design talent has been off the charts.
Hope, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) have each commented in recent days about how wonderful and cutting-edge Thomas’ latest design sketches are.
Could it be that the more disturbed Thomas gets, the better his design skills become? If that’s the case, then it certainly wouldn’t be the first time that creative artistry was linked with mental illness.
Unfortunately, it suggests that Thomas might find himself struggling with his fashion designing talent in the future, once his mental illness is under control.
But what if Thomas isn’t able to design once he’s recovered, or at least not at the same level as when he was mentally ill? Thomas has made it clear in the past that he’s banking on taking over Forrester Creations someday, and that he considers it to be his birthright (which it is).
But once Thomas comes to grip with reality, his design talent could be largely squashed, and that would put him at a big disadvantage with, say, Zende.
Might Thomas lose his cutting-edge artistry once he gets mentally healthy? And would it be distressing enough for him to actually stop taking his meds in order for his talents to return?
That would certainly make for some interesting drama, but we’ll have to wait to see where this storyline is headed.
The first step will be for Thomas to get healthy, and we’re of course rooting for him. Do you think that Thomas will experience a creative void once his mental illness is managed?
