The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that things for Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) are going to get much worse before they start to get better.
As B&B viewers know, Thomas has been exhibiting some disturbing behavior lately, including hearing voices coming from a mannequin that looks just like Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle). Thomas has imagined the mannequin speaking to him and coming to life, which is pretty scary.
Well, it won’t be long before things really start to get out of hand. Already, John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) has noticed Thomas’ distraction and thoughts that seem to be out of touch with reality.
B&B spoilers indicate that soon, Thomas will imagine the mannequin making some dark requests, which may involve Thomas harming others, or even himself.
Clearly, Thomas’ mental health is in disarray, and it seems that he may soon be diagnosed with a very serious mental disorder – paranoid schizophrenia.
And even though Thomas has supposedly been making great strides in his relationship with his son Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) lately, there’s probably going to be a strong contingent of people who will want to keep him from Douglas until he’s undergone serious treatment for his disorder.
Paranoid schizophrenia is a lifelong disorder, but people with the disorder can be treated with medication and can live productive lives. That said, there are probably some very difficult days for Thomas ahead, and he’ll likely be behaving in ways that would really scare a young child.
Of course, the good news here is that Douglas has Hope and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) as solid parental figures, but at some point, Thomas is going to want to reestablish a relationship with Douglas.
One wonders if Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Hope will start to lobby for Liam to adopt Douglas at some point. As B&B viewers will remember, previously Brooke even had adoption papers drawn up to urge Hope and Liam to adopt Douglas and for Thomas to terminate his parental rights.
Perhaps Hope and Liam will think that they should both adopt Douglas for his own protection…and since they’ll basically be taking care of Douglas full-time anyway, given that Thomas will be dealing with a serious treatment regimen.
We’ll see what happens here, but we’re wondering if perhaps Thomas’ future as a father to Douglas is going to be in real jeopardy as a result of his mental illness.
If so, then Douglas certainly has people who are willing and able to care for him, but knowing Thomas, he’s going to have a real problem with Liam adopting Douglas if it comes to that.
