The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) has proven he’s a changed man since he’s been back in LA. Thomas has been focused on helping Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and being the supportive brother she deserves.
It’s been nice to see some sibling bonding for these two. This is a tranquil Thomas – one who isn’t constantly scheming and obsessing over Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).
However, Thomas is still going to need a love interest and a new storyline if he sticks around. Who will Thomas be paired up with next? Time will tell, but Steffy’s ordeal could play a role in what’s ahead for Thomas.
Once Steffy gets addicted, Thomas may feel guilty for nudging her to get more pills from Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). Thomas might end up feeling like this is partly his fault.
Of course, that won’t really be true. Thomas didn’t force Finn to give Steffy a pain med refill – and Steffy is ultimately responsible for her own choices. Even so, Thomas loves his sister and will hate to think he contributed to her suffering in any way.
After Steffy’s life spirals out of control, Thomas may need someone to lean on. Could that someone be Hope? Thomas and Hope are always going to be connected as co-parents to Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri), but could they eventually be connected as more?
No one wants Thomas’ obsession back, but this could be an opportunity to do “Thope” right this time. When Atkinson made his debut, many B&B fans were hopeful that his version of Thomas could develop an organic relationship with Hope.
It initially seemed like that might happen since Thomas was grieving over Caroline Spencer’s (Linsey Godfrey) death and Hope was grieving for her “dead” daughter.
Things went off the rails after Thomas became fixated on Hope and hid the bogus adoption truth, but they started off nice enough. There’s no denying that Atkinson and Noelle have terrific onscreen chemistry in their scenes together.
Now that Thomas is reformed, it’s possible The Bold and the Beautiful will give “Thope” a legitimate shot. If Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) drifts closer to Steffy due to the looming drug battle, it could leave Hope feeling neglected.
Hope might understand Liam’s concern, but she might also feel like Liam should butt out and let Finn handle it.
If you take “Lope” conflict and emotional distance along with healthy “Thope” bonding, it could add up to a real chance for Thomas and Hope. Naturally, Thomas might fight his feelings and push Hope away.
Perhaps Thomas would feel like this is risky territory considering his previous weakness for Hope and his penchant for going overboard.
There’s also the matter of Hope being a married woman, but that never stopped a Logan before! If Liam starts waffling, Hope might be drawn to Thomas’ devotion.
As long as Thomas can keep himself out of the crazy, obsessed zone, maybe he could find true love with Hope after all. We’ll bring you updates as other B&B news rolls in.
