The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Thursday, January 23, reveal that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) returned back to the cliff house after spending time with Kelly Spencer (Zoe Pennington) at the beach. Kelly was fussy, so Liam went to put her down while Steffy received a call from Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).
Thomas was happy to hear that Steffy was with Liam, and he remarked that everything was working out. Steffy noted that she still felt guilty about the kiss, but Thomas told her not to feel guilty, and that she had been sidelined for long enough. He told Steffy that she’d get the family she deserved, but Steffy didn’t seem too thrilled by the whole secret-keeping thing.
Liam returned to the room, and the two playfully talked about how wonderful it was spending time together as a family. Liam then noticed one of Kelly’s toys, which he somberly said that Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez) also had. Liam lamented about the kiss and how Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) ended things with him over it.
Steffy noted that she should be the one who feels guilty about the kiss since she was the one who kissed him. But Liam said that it’s not like the kiss was planned or anything. That made Steffy feel guilty, and after Liam had changed for work, Steffy was feeling even guiltier. She told Liam that she cherishes the family moments they’ve had over the past few days, but that she feels bad about what he’s going through.
Liam again said that he didn’t blame Steffy for the kiss, but Steffy said that he should blame her. She said that she let herself get pulled into something, and that she needed to tell him something – that there was something he needed to know about their kiss.
Meanwhile, at the Forrester mansion, Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) talked with his mom Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer). Quinn dodged questions about her difficulties with Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang), and then talk turned to Wyatt, who said he had news that would make her happy.
Quinn guessed that he and Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) were getting back together, which prompted Quinn to pop the champagne and pour them mimosas. Wyatt lamented about how he still cared about Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and that she was really hurt by his breakup – to the point where she didn’t readily accept it as final.
Wyatt noted that something just seemed different about Sally, but Quinn said that Sally would bounce back because she’s strong. Wyatt then said that he hoped things got better for Sally very soon, and that he only wanted the best for her, even though he’s not the guy for her.
Next, at Flo’s apartment, Sally barged in saying she wanted to set the record straight about her fiancé once and for all. She accused Flo of making a play for Wyatt, which Flo denied. Sally went on to say that she and Wyatt would be just fine, but while she was talking, her hand started trembling, which she tried to hide.
Sally seemed to be more agitated than usual and went on about how what she and Wyatt have is solid and that it’s not the end for them, prompting Flo to ask her why she wanted to be with someone who wants to be with someone else. Sally then got lightheaded and had to sit down on the couch, worrying Flo. Sally insisted that she was ok and that she had just skipped breakfast that morning.
Sally continued to rant about how Flo needed to stay away from Wyatt, to give her and Wyatt a chance to reconnect. Flo said that at the end of the day it was Wyatt’s choice, and that it would only cause Sally more pain if she doesn’t let go. Then Flo’s phone rang, and while she was answering it, Sally continued to shake, with her hands trembling.
Finally, at Forrester, Thomas was busy at work when Hope entered, still visibly upset about her breakup with Liam. Thomas gently said that he heard about what happened from Steffy. Hope then ranted about the conditions that Liam put on their marriage, and that she thought she could work through it, but then she saw Steffy and Liam together.
Thomas heard everything he wanted to hear as Hope went on about how she couldn’t stop being a mother to Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri). Thomas thanked Hope for not abandoning his son, and Hope noted that while she’ll never forget what Thomas did, she doesn’t hate him the way Liam hates him. Hope then started crying, and Thomas stepped up and embraced her as she sobbed.
