The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 29, reveal that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) argued at the cabin. Liam insisted that the secret about their affair was killing him, and he ranted about how Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) was staying in the main house and how it would be a reminder of what they did.
Steffy said that there was no problem unless Liam made it a problem. Liam paced and ranted, saying that he felt overwhelming guilt and that he didn’t know how he could have been so stupid.
Steffy then said that they weren’t really lying to Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), which caused Liam to explode.
Steffy argued that they had to keep the secret, or else they’d cause Hope and Finn unbearable pain. “We need to move on!” Steffy yelled, causing Liam to yell back. “How? Seriously – how? This is torture!” Liam wailed. “It’s tearing me apart, Steffy!”
Meanwhile, at Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) mansion, Thomas and Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) talked.
Thomas said that he was grateful to Brooke for inviting him to stay at the mansion, and Hope said that Brooke believed in his commitment to change. Thomas hoped that Hope could believe it too.
Hope told a tired Thomas to take it easy, and Thomas wanted to know if Hope realized that the way Thomas acted during his head trauma incident wasn’t who he was. Hope said that she wouldn’t have invited Thomas to design for her if she didn’t think she had changed.
Hope said that Thomas had worked hard to prove himself, and that he should be an even bigger part of Douglas Forrester’s (Henry Joseph Samiri) life.
Back at the cabin, Steffy and Liam’s argument was escalating. Liam said that the truth would eventually come out and that they would ultimately lose Hope and Finn.
Steffy thought that Liam needed to calm down, and Liam yelled that he needed to tell Hope. More arguing ensued, and Steffy yelled that Hope would hate Liam and it would destroy his relationship with Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez).
Liam yelled back that he felt like he was losing it, and that he couldn’t go on like this. “Maybe if she hears the truth from me…” Liam started. “No! You stop right there!” Steffy fumed.
“Have you thought about the children?” Steffy said, noting how hurt Douglas, Beth, and Kelly Spencer (Avalon and Colette Gray) would be. “You cannot tell Hope! Don’t you dare tell Hope!” Steffy yelled.
Just then, Steffy turned, and Hope was standing in the doorway of the cabin. “Don’t tell me what?” Hope asked. “What are you two talking about?” Liam and Steffy stood there dumbfounded, and Steffy glared at Liam. “Liam, tell me!” Hope insisted.
In the Forrester CEO office, Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) and Ridge continued their conversation. Ridge said that Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) was impressed with Paris’ charitable work, and Paris explained that she’s always wanted to help people.
Ridge invited Paris to sit and tell him about that. Paris went on about her work, and about how she wanted to broaden her scope and consult with corporations.
Ridge noted that Paris was young, and Paris said that young people can change the world; they just need tools and funding. Paris that the young had innovative thoughts and that there was much that they could accomplish.
Ridge then mentioned the Forrester Foundation, and how a member of the foundation recently retired and that he was looking for someone to take her place.
“Would you be interested?” Ridge asked. “Of course!” Paris said, and Ridge asked Paris to think about the offer. Meanwhile, over in the Forrester design office, Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) was floored at the idea of Paris coming to work for Forrester Creations.
“You can’t be serious,” Zoe said to Carter. “She’s not interested in working in fashion – she’s a social worker.”
Zoe wondered if Paris had asked Carter for a job, and Carter said no, that he recognized her talent and intelligence, and that she’d be a great addition to the Forrester team. “Is she even really qualified for this?” Zoe asked. Carter said that he thought Zoe would be a good fit. “I don’t,” Zoe said flatly.
“You’re sweet, but I know you’ll find someone better for the job,” Zoe continued. “Anyone but my sister.” Carter didn’t understand, and Zoe went on, saying that he and Ridge could find anyone, but not Paris. “Not here – not at Forrester Creations,” Zoe insisted.
