The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 8, reveal that Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) was talking with Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) at Spencer Publications, when Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) burst in the room.
Ridge said that if Bill was going to make another play for Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), then they were going to have a problem.
Justin noted that Ridge shouldn’t just drop by unannounced, but Ridge bellowed about Bill being the reason Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was in the hospital, and that Bill mowed Steffy down with his car.
“You’re not enough of an idiot to believe that,” Bill blustered. Bill then said that he cared about Brooke more than Ridge did.
Justin took off to go over some contracts, and Ridge told Bill that he had heard Bill’s profession of love to Brooke. “Then you heard what she said back to me, so deal with it,” Bill replied.
Ridge said that Bill was delusional, and Bill said that Ridge was a hypocrite since he was married to another woman. Ridge brought up what Bill did to Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and said that he’d always protect Brooke from guys like Bill.
At the cabin, Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) lamented to Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) that Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) had taken the kids to the beach and that it was getting late. Hope didn’t think that Steffy would like Kelly Spencer (Colette and Avalon Gray) being gone for so long. Liam said he’d call Steffy and explain.
Soon, Brooke stopped by and got up to speed on what was going on with Steffy and her blow up in front of Hope earlier. After some talk about Steffy still taking pain meds, Hope mentioned that Steffy’s doctor was at the cliff house earlier, and Brooke wondered if something was going on there.
Liam changed the subject to how Brooke was doing, and she said things weren’t easy right now with Ridge.
Later, after Brooke left, Hope and Liam talked about how this was a special time for them and that things in their lives were going very well. Although Hope felt bad for Steffy and what she is going through, Hope couldn’t remember ever feeling so at peace and blessed.
Liam and Hope declared their love and seemed very happy together.
At the cliff house, John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) told Steffy that his answer on the pain meds was no. Steffy said that she was in pain, and that Finn was the only one who could help her.
Finn didn’t fall for it, even when Steffy claimed to be no good to Kelly this way. Finn pointed out firmly but kindly that Steffy would be no good to Kelly if she was overly reliant on medication.
Finn went on, expressing his concern that Steffy was becoming dependent on the pain meds, and he explained medically how opioid pain meds block pain and how easy it is to become addicted to them. “You think I have a problem?” Steffy asked.
Finn simply said that he was concerned, and that Steffy needed to open up to someone about her emotional pain.
Finn offered to listen, and Steffy explained about how she had thought Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez) was hers, and that she had to give Beth up to Hope and Liam.
Steffy went on, explaining that she had named Beth “Phoebe” after her dead sister, and that she had lost Liam to Hope, just like her mother lost Ridge to Brooke.
Finn said that it meant a lot that Steffy trusted him enough to tell him all of this. Finn then said that Steffy needed to hear him, and that she was dealing with more than physical pain. “You’re a mother mourning the loss of your family,” Finn said.
Soon, Finn got a text and had to go, but he wrote something down for Steffy. Steffy perked up, thinking that it was a new prescription, but Finn said that it was a different kind of medicine – his direct line.
Finn told Steffy to call him anytime for help. After Finn left, Steffy picked up the note and looked at Finn’s number and smiled happily.
