The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 19, reveal that Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer) and Shauna Fulton Forrester (Denise Richards) arrived at the Forrester mansion and talked following their confrontation with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) at Forrester Creations.
Shauna thought that both Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Eric Forrester (John McCook) were trying to avoid her, but Quinn reassured Shauna that everything would be ok.
Shauna was still feeling shaky about her marriage to Ridge being based on a lie, but Quinn told Shauna that what she had done was a good thing – it had saved Ridge from a lifetime of unhappiness with Brooke.
Shauna continued to feel guilty, but Quinn urged Shauna to get over it and focus on the here and now – after all, she was Mrs. Ridge Forrester and had a life to lead with Ridge.
After Shauna flashed back to the night in Vegas with Ridge, she lamented about how she was the one who had texted Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and instructed him to file the divorce papers.
Shauna went on to remind viewers that Ridge was barely awake when the wedding happened, but that she convinced the officiant (who was also her friend) to continue the wedding ceremony.
Finally, Quinn seemed to get through to Shauna, and Shauna agreed that she could make Ridge happier than Brooke could. “You are right, I’ve been focusing on the wrong details,” Shauna said. “I know I’m the woman who can bring the joy and stability he never received from Brooke.”
At Brooke’s home, Brooke blasted Ridge for filing the divorce papers and marrying another woman. Ridge said that they could make it right, and that they could start with the annulment papers that Carter drew up.
Brooke repeatedly insisted that she’d lost Ridge forever, and Ridge repeatedly insisted that she hadn’t lost him.
Brooke said that he blamed herself, too, since the kiss with Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) had set this whole thing in motion. Yet, Brooke said that Ridge still married another woman, and that it was just too easy for him to toss her aside.
Brooke said that she couldn’t share her life with a man she doesn’t trust, and that maybe they love each other too much. Ridge said that Brooke was the only woman for him, and he asked for her forgiveness.
At the cliff house, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) insisted that he stay with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), but Steffy wanted to answer some emails.
Steffy exclaimed in pain as she reached for her laptop, and Thomas insisted that Steffy get some more pain killers. Steffy said that the doctor wouldn’t give her anymore, but Thomas thought that it was ridiculous for Steffy to suffer in pain.
Thomas threatened to call the doctor, but Steffy said no. Thomas got agitated, saying that Steffy needed help, and that she needed to tell her doctor the truth – that the pain was intolerable and that she had a child to care for.
Steffy finally agreed to call the doctor, and she called John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), who was at his office. Finn was happy to hear from Steffy.
Finn asked how Steffy was doing, and she admitted that she was still in a lot of pain. That concerned Finn, and Steffy said that she thought she might need to go back on the pain pills.
Finn offered to come by the house, which made Thomas happy. Thomas soon learned from Steffy that the pain was keeping Steffy from sleeping, too, and he got more worried.
Soon, Finn arrived and met Thomas. Thomas said that he didn’t want to talk for Steffy, but that she was struggling a lot. Thomas reluctantly agreed to go and let Steffy handle this, and he asked Finn to take care of his sister.
Thomas took off, and Finn was touched that Steffy’s brother was so loyal and caring. Steffy and Finn sat down, with Steffy wincing as she did.
Finn asked a few questions, then said that Steffy was clearly in a good amount of pain. Steffy admitted that it was difficult to sleep and that it hurt to pick her daughter up and put her into the crib.
Steffy asked if there was anything that Finn could do. “Can you give me more pain meds?” Steffy asked. “I can hardly stand it anymore. I need some relief.”
