It’s semi-finals! It’s down to four contestants and they opened the show with their performance of “Simply the Best:”. This performance like their previous ones had carried clues. The Rhino was seen with globes. The Frog was seen with a hat. The turtle was seen with a photo album. The Night Angel was seen with football. These clues all mean something to the contestant and it gives the judge a hint about who they are behind the masks. The judges have been guessing all season. They started out with eighteen and they made it to four. The Final Four performed later again during the show.

The Night Angel went first. She was the Night Angel because someone close to her had passed and since then she’s always felt like her loved one was watching over her. How this connects to football is anyone’s guess. The judges theorized that maybe she was married to a football player and this song was dedicated to someone. It was dedicated to late Robot. It was also a love song. The Night Angel performed Lil Wayne’s “How to Love”. Her voice was very distinctive and at the same time, it was hard to pinpoint who the voice belonged to. Even their guest judge Jay Pharaoh was at a loss. The Night Angel got to come up close to the judges so that they could take a better look at her outfit.

They spotted the detail. They also noticed the moon pin. There was a moon on the stage as part of the background and so the moon must be important. Except the judges didn’t know what it meant. They all took their guesses about who was behind the mask. Jay thought it was Dawn Robinson. Ken was his funny self when he threw out the name Ciara. Ciara is currently pregnant right now and no costume is that good to hide a pregnancy bump. Jenny had thought the Night Angel was Kandi Burruss. She believes the Night Angel is talented and that she’s been doing her best to disguise her voice.

The Turtle went second. He revealed he was a major fan of Robin’s and that Robin’s encouragement has helped him to realize he can leave his comfort zone. He also had a street sign that said “Back”. He even said he had “quit playing games” and so he definitely seems like a Backstreet Boy. It would explain his stage presence as well as his musical ability. He was clearly at ease onstage. It was now just a guess on which Backstreet Boy he was. There were five men in the group and they were all equally talented. So, the judges had a hard time with this one. Ken and Nicole thought it was a Backstreet Boy.

Ken thought it was Kevin Richardson. Nicole thought it was Nick Carter. Again, the clues all lead back to the Backstreet Boys. There was the sign and there was the ring. The Turtle was wearing a ring. It looked platinum and the Backstreet Boys have gone Platinum. The only one who didn’t think it was a Backstreet Boy was Robin. Robin was thrown by the clue of the Turtle is a big fan of his. The Turtle had said he acquired his own falsetto thanks to Robin and so Robin thought the Turtle was Justin Guarini. He remembered Justin had auditioned with one of his songs. He also remembered Justin’s falsetto which he still portrays in that soda commercial.

Either way, it was time for the next one. The Rhino went third. He’s been giving a lot of country clues and so everyone assumed he was a country musician. He was also really tall. There naturally was one of the judges that thought it was Blake Shelton. Only how do the globes come in. There were a lot of navy themes last week and so that plus the country was a little off-putting. Ken stole a guess from Jenny. He believed the Rhino was Barry Zito. Zito was on the hit show JAG as a naval officer and so that could explain where the Navy came in. And Zito was tall because he was known for it as an athlete.

Nicole went in a different direction. She believed the Rhino was Jason Aldean. Aldean just had a baby and there was a baby rhino pin on the Rhino. Plus, Aldean is a country musician. Its his field and his latest album was titled “9” just like the other clue. Nicole and Ken used the clues to build up their assumptions while Jay went with a different angle. Jay merely saw the height and heard the voice. He believed the Rhino is Blake Shelton. He even thinks that Gwen might have helped the Rhino with his outfit just because it was so out there and so in a way, he was coming to his own logical conclusions.

The Frog went next. He was the fourth and the last. He talked about stripping away his public persona for the show and he gave more basketball clues in his video. He also did some dancing. Had some hair rollers as clues and mentioned he is a father. The Frog performed “Hip Hop Hurray”. He revealed he was also a good rapper and so it could be anything with the Frog. He could be anyone. The judges all thought he was incredibly talented and their closer look at his outfit hadn’t helped the judges any. He had on a pin that said “mom”. Everyone has a mom and so that clue didn’t help much.

Jenny thought the mom pin might be about a song the Frog has performed. She thought the Frog was Chance the Rapper. Robin and Jay both thought it was Bow Wow. He was in the film Roll Bounce which would explain the old-fashioned rollers. He was also short like the Frog and he was known for his dancing. Another clue the judges didn’t spot is that Bow Wow was in the movie “Like Mike” so that could explain all the basketball themes. Ken, however, went with Lil Fizz. He thought someone from B2K was behind the mask and they had already ruled out Omarion. And the judges all later waited to see who the audience voted to keep and who they eliminated.

The audience eliminated the Rhino. Nicole still believes it was Jason Aldean. Robin thought it was Trace Atkins. Jay thought it was Blake Shelton. It was just Jenny and Ken who thought it was Barry Zito and they were one that turned out to be right.

The Rhino proved to be Barry Zito. His family just had their third baby three days ago. It was their third boy and so that was the big event he was talking about.

THE END!
