The Young and the Restless Spoilers: 5 Things That Need to End in New Y&R Episodes – Big Changes Coming To Genoa City

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there are plenty of things fans want to see when new episodes return. Y&R viewers certainly want gripping storylines, hot drama and love in the afternoon – at least as much as they can give us while dealing with the new safety protocols. However, fans have a list of what they don’t want as well! Here are five things that need to end in new Y&R episodes.

1) Phyllis Summers and Abby Newman’s war

Don’t get us wrong! Almost everyone should have an enemy or two on soaps – and Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) behavior warrants tons of them. Nevertheless, Phyllis and Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) feud seems childish and has gone on for what feels like an eternity.

Nobody’s saying Abby and Phyllis have to get along, but they really need to end this war and try to move on with their lives.

2) Theo Vanderway’s pity party

Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) tends to sabotage himself and get in his own way, which is totally fine. Soap characters who are screwups can be fun! What isn’t fun is when a character does wrong things and it turns into a giant pity party. If people are going to feel sorry for Theo when he messes up, what’s the point of him messing up?

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) may have set the trap in that Jabot competition, but Theo took the bait – and that’s on Theo. There’s really no reason for Kyle to feel guilty when Theo was the one who cheated.

If Theo isn’t going to turn from his scheming ways, then he’d work better as a bad boy who fans love to hate. Otherwise, just put Theo on a better path and have him stick to it.

3) Sharon Newman’s cancer story

Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) cancer storyline has definitely been a powerful one, but it’s safe to say many fans are ready to move on – especially after this extended break. The Young and the Restless has already hit all the necessary beats for a serious illness story.

The original plan was for this plot to run through October, but it’d be a good idea to wrap things up sooner. It’s a heavy storyline and people would probably prefer something a bit lighter following this shutdown. Most of us are ready for an escape, so let’s hope the rest of Sharon’s recovery is speedy.

4) Newman CEO upheaval

It seems like nothing ever really happens at Newman Enterprises except people moving in and out of that CEO seat. Perhaps Y&R writers could ditch this game of musical CEO chairs on new episodes.

It’d be great to see some actual business storylines – like battles with Jabot and Chancellor – instead of a different Newman taking the throne constantly.

5) Single Jack Abbott’s loneliness

Jack’s been single for far too long, so it’s time to end his loneliness! Many Young and the Restless fans would love to see Jack fall in love and make it last. Whether Jack reunites with Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) or finds another woman to keep him warm at night, there’s surely a love interest in Jack’s future.

Jack deserves to build a new romance and have a solid personal life again.
