The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that there may be some truth to Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) warning. Y&R fans know Phyllis and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) recently faced off again, which led to a war about their love lives. Abby accused Phyllis of lying about having someone to keep her warm at night and gloated about her big adventure with Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz).
Of course, Phyllis felt certain Chance would disappoint Abby like all her other love interests. So we have to ask…is Phyllis right? Will Chance indeed let Abby down? This Y&R couple has to face some drama sooner or later, so Chance could indeed be on the verge of a major screwup.
There was a weird moment at Crimson Lights recently when Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) was bonding with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Abby looked at Nate almost longingly, which prompted an interesting comment from Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Adam assured Abby that she was too good for Nate, but the whole thing was odd considering Abby’s been so caught up in her Chance romance.
That might’ve been another clue about the trouble ahead for Chance and Abby. If Abby’s gazing at an ex and wondering about what might’ve been, that’s not a good sign.
However, The Young and the Restless probably won’t want to ditch the newer duo completely. Why put Abby and Chance together at all if they’re not going to give them a real shot?
With that in mind, there might be some conflict followed by something to help Chance and Abby reconnect. Since sleeping together is their favorite pastime, could Abby end up with a bun in the oven?
Will Abby realize she’s pregnant after this inevitable blowup that Y&R’s hinting at? That might give Abby a reason to reconsider breaking things off with Chance.
Abby wouldn’t have to stick with Chance just because he’d be the “baby daddy,” but it’s a common soap trope. They might both see the potential in starting a happy family. It’s easy to imagine this sort of thing setting up Chance’s proposal and a promise to be a devoted father.
It’s possible Y&R could go for a paternity mystery based on that strange scene of Abby looking at Nate, but he just doesn’t seem interested in Abby anymore. Nate’s focused on Amanda, so she appears to be his new romantic direction.
It’s tough to imagine Abby and Nate hooking up at this point, so a straightforward pregnancy by Chance seems like the better option.
Abby’s been concentrating on her career for quite some time. She’s busy building an empire, so Abby’s definitely not looking to get pregnant right about now. That’s exactly why it’s the perfect opportunity for The Young and the Restless to make it happen, especially if Chance disappoints Abby like Phyllis predicts.
