The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) worst fears may come true. As of the September 2 episode, Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) wants to take a job at the GCPD. Security work just isn’t all that fulfilling to Chance, who prefers to be part of real action.
Chance would rather be out there stopping bad guys and saving the world, so he’s ready to be a detective for Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). Although Abby doesn’t want to hold Chance back, she’s got some serious reservations about Chance taking this job.
This goes behind Chance’s criminal secrets – like what went down in Vegas or helping Abby steal Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) identity briefly. Abby’s also worried about Chance getting hurt – and if Abby’s worried, Y&R fans should be, too!
The Young and the Restless fans know Abby’s usually a strong, confident woman. Plus, Abby seems to like Chance’s heroic, adventurous side. It’s a bit odd for Abby to suddenly be so hung up on this potential for grave danger.
That tells us two things: 1) Abby has truly fallen hard for Chance and 2) Abby’s probably going to face a total nightmare. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chance definitely has some trouble in his future, so it could be of the violent variety. It’s easy to imagine Chance getting attacked or shot once he’s on the force.
Then again, Chance’s danger may tie back in with this Vegas threat. There’s certainly the possibility for peril as shocking revelations come to light. The man Adam killed may have associates that come after Chance as part of all this. Even that man’s wife could come on the scene and cause dangerous problems.
Is all of this building to a hospital crisis for Chance – or a clinic crisis since the set’s already up and waiting? Chance might be seriously injured close to that clinic, forcing Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) to save him there.
Regardless, this would serve as an opportunity for Abby and Chance to actually go through something together. Their relationship is mostly flirting and fluff right now, so Y&R needs a strategy to deepen this romance.
A near-death experience for Chance would do the trick. Abby might get some emotional moments as she waited to find out if Chance would survive.
