The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) could be headed for a different kind of trouble. Y&R fans normally have to worry about Adam harming other people, but this time he might be on the verge of harming himself. Let’s consider Adam’s mentality at this point in the story.
Adam’s inner battle has been playing out in the form of bickering with his 11-year-old self. Young Adam (Dane West) has served as Adam’s conscience – the goodness that was once inside him and perhaps the goodness that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) still sees, too.
Despite Adam’s many mistakes, Sharon certainly doesn’t believe he’s bad to the core. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) isn’t willing to give up on Adam either, so he’ll seek Sharon’s help during the week of November 16-20. Victor may make a pitch and hope Sharon can give Adam more therapy sessions.
However, Sharon should face an inner battle of her own. She knows her connection to Adam is problematic since everyone in her life hates his guts. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) would be especially livid over Sharon starting therapy back up with Adam, even in an unofficial, friendly capacity.
Sharon may tell Victor that Adam’s on his own – and Adam may feel that way as well. It seems like Y&R writers are moving away from vengeful Adam and bringing back self-loathing Adam. That should be important as we move into the next phase of this storyline.
On the November 12 episode, Adam tells Sharon she doesn’t have to worry about him anymore – that he knows what he has to do. That sounds kind of ominous, doesn’t it? Like Adam might be planning to end his own life?
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam’s downward spiral will continue over the next couple weeks. Adam may feel like he’s always going to cause pain and destruction – at least if he’s around to inflict it. Perhaps Adam will determine that everyone would be better off without him.
Y&R spoilers for the week of November 23-27 back up this idea. Adam will resort to self-destructive tendencies, so Victor will make a desperate attempt to stop him. That may include bringing Sharon in on this since Adam sometimes listens to her.
Will Adam try to commit suicide? It’s easy to imagine Y&R using The Grand Phoenix rooftop set for the dramatic conclusion to this storyline. Victor could talk his son off the ledge with or without Sharon’s help and finally spark a true breakthrough for Adam.
Regardless, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will hit rock bottom and rely on support to climb out of this pit of despair. We’ll provide updates as other news rolls in.
