The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) is the mystery witness who is going to testify against Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). She’ll apparently claim that Billy was at the scene of the crime, where Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) was shot.
Billy and Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) decision to conduct their own investigation leads to a confrontation at the Grand Phoenix Hotel, where Alyssa will be staying. However, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will intervene, blocking Billy’s attempt to gain full intel.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Alyssa Montalvo Might Not Be The Villain
It’s possible that Alyssa has been lying low, rather than not having returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin. Last viewers saw her she was pursuing the latest lead relating to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
At that point in the plot Alyssa told Billy, over the phone, that she’d connected with the widow of the man Adam claims he accidentally killed in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It’s reasonable to pursue a few scenarios until more facts are presented to the audience, with Alyssa’s guilt and innocence playing out.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Motivated And Equipped To Get Adam Newman
Alyssa’s efforts drove the reveal of Adam as her father’s killer. That alone makes Alyssa the number one person of interest in this case, if Billy didn’t do it, as seems to be true.
Assuming that Alyssa planned to take a shot at Adam, she could have also planned Billy’s frame. Rey confirmed that Billy’s gun was the weapon that was used in the shooting where Chance was the unintended victim.
So, blind revenge would have driven Alyssa to break into Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) home, steal Billy’s gun. That means Alyssa somehow knew it was located there, and then used it as part of a plot to get Billy.
The above scenario is plausible because Alyssa is a crime reporter and would be versed, if not experienced, in crimes of this nature.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Being In The Right Place By Chance
Chance is the play on words because he wasn’t supposed to be the target of the shooting. If Alyssa isn’t the shooter and the likely framer, then she could simply have been in the area when Billy was tracking Adam and happened to see Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).
So, it’s reasonable to believe that Alyssa might be Y&R’s red herring and isn’t the guilty party.
How would Alyssa have known that Billy had a gun and that it was stored in Victoria’s home? Also, her motivation for revenge would be aimed at Adam and not Billy. So why specifically frame him, even though his feelings about Adam were well known?
Both questions create the ability for one to presume Alyssa innocence until she’s proven guilty.
