The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that love’s about to get messy in Genoa City! Y&R fans know Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) was consumed by her fears that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) would fall for Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan).
The confirmation that Amanda was Hilary Curtis Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) twin sent Elena spinning out and led to her betrayal with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
What happens once Devon finds out about that betrayal during the week of October 19-23? The predictable route would be for Elena’s worst fears to come true because of what she did. Nevertheless, there are some important factors to consider – ones that could mean Y&R won’t take the predictable route.
For starters, Sarpy and James are a couple in real life, which means they’re free to kiss, cuddle, shoot love scenes, etc. They don’t have to resort to shadow clinic hookups when it comes time to film things, so it’s just easier.
We’d also imagine James and Sarpy really enjoy working together, so Y&R might be inclined to keep them happy.
We’ve also got the story to consider. The Young and the Restless could play around with the chemistry between Devon and Amanda, which is obviously there.
However, it’s kind of creepy to date your dead wife’s twin sister. Wouldn’t that kind of cheapen what Devon and Hilary had together?
Ever since Devon found out Amanda might be related to Hilary, he’s been trying to do what Hilary would want. We can tell you right now Hilary would NOT want Devon dating her twin.
Can you imagine the fury Hilary would rain down if she were still alive? Amanda would probably be the dead one!
In other words, The Young and the Restless might tease the possibility of Amanda and Devon as a couple, but Devon will probably forgive and pick Elena in the end. If so, where does that leave Amanda?
Since Nate dumped her, it might leave Amanda in a new love triangle with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Y&R fans know Billy was there for Amanda when she needed help looking into her background, which brought some close moments. Billy’s always pushing the boundaries of their friendship – seeing just how far he can take it without crossing the line.
Even so, there seems to be an attraction developing between Billy and Lily as well. It’s great because Billy has chemistry with both women in different ways. There’s a deep intensity to Billy’s scenes with Amanda, which contrasts with Billy’s sparkly, light scenes with Lily.
Although Billy may be poised to kick off a Lily romance, he’ll find it awfully hard to resist Amanda if she becomes a real option. As a bonus, Lily and Amanda could become rivals.
Amanda enjoys working with Lily and considers her a friend, but there’s still some tension since Lily caused the accident that killed Hilary.
Lily is the reason Amanda will never meet her sister, so that’s a lot for Amanda to deal with. Amanda suggested they’d take things a step at a time, which puts them in the perfect place for a new rivalry over Billy.
It’s easy to imagine their efforts at friendship falling apart, which would allow Khalil and Morgan to play enemies again. They were always fantastic at it back when Lily and Hilary would face off.
There are some excellent reasons for Y&R to swing Amanda back in Billy’s direction for a triangle with Billy and Lily, so maybe they’ll follow through! As other news emerges, we’ll pass along updates.
