The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Billy’s Jail Dream Reveals He’s The Shooter – Alternate Personality Attempted Murder?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will have no choice but to spend the night behind bars. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will arrest Billy once again after he pounds on the door of the secret witness – and that secret witness happens to be Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico).

Billy will want to know why Alyssa’s testifying against him, but all he’ll get is a night in jail and a wild dream about Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). We really want to focus on this dream because it sounds pretty important.

The Young and the Restless will offer up another standalone episode and a deep dive into Billy’s psyche.

Of course, there must be a point to this – at least we hope so. Nobody cares if Billy has a peculiar dream and it nothing changes at all. What if a shocking twist is waiting at the end of this dream? Could Billy have a horrifying realization about who the killer is?

Let’s think about the shooter mystery Y&R’s set up. There are plenty of people who might’ve pulled the trigger, but the trick is finding someone who makes sense AND surprises the viewer.

Is there anybody on canvas who could check both boxes? There’s perhaps only one character who could pull it off – and that’s Billy himself!

Billy acts so certain that he didn’t fire a shot at Adam and hit Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston) by mistake. He’s adamant that he’s been framed, but Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) pointed out there’s no evidence of that. Looking at the facts, Billy seems guilty.

What if that’s because Billy really is guilty and just doesn’t realize it? Y&R fans haven’t forgotten about gum-chewer Billy, who tried to run over Adam last year. That was attempted murder! Billy’s alter wanted to kill Adam back then, so what if another alter wants to kill Adam now?

It adds up when you think about it. Billy clearly had dissociative identity disorder, but the show chose to brush Billy’s split personality under the rug. It was never truly dealt with – and Billy even stopped going to his usual therapy sessions, which already weren’t enough.

There have been no signs of Billy chewing gum again, so that alternate personality may be gone. Who’s to say another alter didn’t emerge to take his place? Billy could have several of them for all fans know.

Again, Billy never got the proper treatment, so there’s no reason to think his dissociative identity disorder just went away.

It’d be great if at the end of Billy’s dream in jail, he remembers pulling the trigger after all. Billy might finally access his alternate personality’s memories and realize it’s been him the whole time.

It’d suddenly make sense why Billy’s earbud was at the crime scene and how the shooter knew where to get the gun.

Billy might discover his mental state is fractured and know things are a lot more complicated than he thought. It’s definitely something to think about since Y&R’s given us a big mystery and Billy’s getting this epic standalone episode.

There could be a bombshell waiting at the end of this special show, so we’ll see if Billy’s alter is the culprit.
