The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) and Brytni Sarpy (Elena Dawson) won’t need to use a stand-in for any romantic scenes due to the newly developed protocols. As fans know, Devon and Elena’s relationship is mirrored through the actor’s real life connection off-screen.
The need to use a double in place of a romantic partner, in order to follow safety measures, won’t be needed in this instance. Both actors have been open about their relationship in recent months, which now becomes another strength at work.

The Bold and the Beautiful is Y&R’s sister show. Bradley Bell, the executive producer and head writer of that longtime steamer, recently announced that B&B plans to incorporate dolls and the actor’s real life spouses and significant others in romantic scenes. The unusual technique is part of the show’s return to work plan.
B&B shares production studios with Y&R and began recording last week. TPTB at Y&R will follow the same methods because both shows are produced by Bell-Phillip Television Productions.

Devon was ravaged by the loss of his beloved wife, Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan), and their unborn child, two years ago. He fought through the tremendous emotional pain, meeting Elena, Ana Hamilton’s (Loren Lott) cousin, along the way.
Y&R created a natural storyline that allowed Devon and Elena to form a believable bond. Sarpy’s character stood with the audience in helping Devon to heal. Through that experience Delena, or Elevon if one prefers, became one of the show most endearing couples.

Devon and Elena could easily get married at almost any plot point when the next new episodes begin airing, as their bond is that tight. But it’s also possible that Amanda Sinclair’s (Morgan’s current role) parental mystery pursuit draws Devon to her and a reimagined, alternate version of Hevon emerges.
Elena could also bond with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), as both characters are already friends and volunteer together at the New Hope clinic. Actually, this could be the head-fake path that the writing staff opts for, rather than have the obvious Devon-Amanda spark begin.
But assuming a breakup is pure speculation. For the moment Devon and Elena remain in love. Because James and Sarpy are a real couple they won’t have to work with dolls, or stand-ins the next time their alter egos have a romantic scene together.
