The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that we need to talk about where this Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) situation is headed – because it’s probably nowhere good!
Y&R fans know Chelsea’s been having a hard time due to trust issues and disagreements in her relationship with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Chelsea’s also missing Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) since she had to send him away to boarding school. It seemed like Chelsea was teetering on the edge of her breaking point in the October 12 episode, but holding little Miles Fisher brought Chelsea comfort and strength.
It also led to Chelsea making a beeline to Chance Comm, where she brought a wild idea to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Billy was thrown when Chelsea insisted that she wanted to spend some time with Johnny and felt like this whole conversation was getting nuttier by the second.
Chelsea’s response was to snap about how Billy shouldn’t call her crazy.
Let’s look at some puzzle pieces Y&R’s offered so far. We’ve got Chelsea, who’s been pushing Adam to leave Genoa City with her and create a new life for their family. Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) has also urged Chelsea to focus on her future with Connor and move forward without Adam.
Now we’ve got Billy laying the groundwork for Chelsea to do something crazy – and she indeed seemed a tad unhinged and frantic during that intense Johnny conversation. We also know Adam recently declared love for Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) again and expressed his desire to reunite.
What’s going to happen when Chelsea realizes she’s stood by Adam through all this – only for Adam to try and get Sharon back? That could break “Chadam,” which is hanging by a thread already.
In fact, it could bring some sort of mental break for Chelsea. She even had a head injury recently that might play a role in all this.
When you put the clues together, it seems like Chelsea might kidnap Johnny and plan to make him part of her new life with Connor elsewhere. Billy certainly has no intention of letting Chelsea spend time with her biological son, but Chelsea has vowed not to give up.
Chelsea may feel like she’ll have to steal Johnny in the end.
After all, it wouldn’t be the first time Chelsea tried to flee with someone else’s kid. Johnny isn’t legally Chelsea’s child – just like Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) doesn’t legally belong to Chelsea or even Adam for that matter. That didn’t stop Chelsea from kidnapping Christian before changing her mind.
The last time Chelsea made a getaway from GC, she wanted to keep Connor and Christian together to raise as brothers. Chelsea bailed on that plan, but it could come back around with Connor and Johnny.
The Young and the Restless is moving Chelsea into crazy territory, so she may kidnap Johnny with the intention of raising both her sons.
