The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that it’s official! We now know who Courtney Hope will be playing on Y&R – and it’s none other than The Bold and the Beautiful’s feisty Sally Spectra. On Twitter, the CBS soap confirmed the news and posted a pic of Hope outside her dressing room.
“Get ready Genoa City because Sally Spectra is coming to town!” the main Y&R account tweeted. “@TheCourtneyHope is here on set for her first day at #YR. Let’s give her a warm welcome.”
Naturally, many fans did indeed give Hope a warm welcome in the replies. “Welcome to Y&R, I’m looking forward to seeing what kinda drama Sally gonna bring to Genoa City,” one viewer said. “Oh cool, she’s going to remain Sally,” another fan tweeted.
One more excited Y&R fan insisted, “Can I just say how happy I am Sally Spectra is sticking around. Welcome welcome welcome to Genoa City. You’re going to rock this.” Since many B&B viewers were sad to see Sally go over on The Bold and the Beautiful, it’s great that Hope can bring Sally to Y&R and give the character a new chapter.
It turns out that’s exactly what Sally will be seeking when she shows up in town: a new chapter. Just in case you’re not familiar with the drama on B&B, we’ll fill you in. Sally left town in shame after faking a terminal illness to get back with her ex, Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks).
However, don’t let that affect your judgment of Sally. The story was widely panned as being out of character for typically strong, smart Sally. It was originally supposed to end with Sally having a genuine terminal illness and dying, but a rewrite turned Sally into a villain and left fans disgruntled.
On the bright side, Sally’s alive and well! She can seek a fresh start in GC and hopefully return to the same passionate go-getter that B&B fans already know and love. It’s safe to say many Y&R fans will love Sally, too – whether you know Sally from The Bold and the Beautiful or not.
The Young and the Restless spoilers state that Sally will connect with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman), who should be eager to hear whatever pitch the original Sally Spectra’s (Darlene Conley) grandniece might make. Soap Central confirms Sally’s first airdate will be on November 3, so stay tuned!
