The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) could be up for some serious heartbreak in the near future. As Y&R viewers know, Elena and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) seem to be deliriously happy together as a couple right now, which is great to see. Elena and Devon have teamed together along with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) on the New Hope clinic, and the couple really seems to be living the dream while being very much in love.
And while Devon has largely kept his distance from Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) since Amanda came to town, we couldn’t help but notice that there seems to be a spark between these two.
Right now, neither Devon nor Amanda are acting on that spark, and Amanda has busied herself with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Nate in recent weeks. But the spark is clearly there.
In fact, in a scene at Crimson Lights recently, Amanda and Devon seemed to get to a point where they put the past behind them. Devon finally has accepted that Amanda wasn’t involved in Colin Atkinson’s (Tristan Rogers) scam over Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) will, and he extended a peace offering to Amanda, even apologizing to her.
But as Amanda and Devon shook hands and smiled at each other, Elena happened to notice from across the coffee shop. It was abundantly clear that Elena was NOT happy with the scene, and she’s clearly still got some insecurities over the fact that Amanda looks just like Devon’s deceased wife, Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan).
Elena seems to sense that Devon has a pull toward Amanda given her resemblance to Hilary. Could this scene be foreshadowing the drama to come?
Sure, right now Amanda is starting out on a new relationship with Nate, and she seems happy, although she also seems to have some lingering feelings for Billy. But is Amanda really going to end up with either Nate or Billy?
Or do TPTB have an ultimate plan to pair Amanda with Devon? We could see that being a possibility – in other words, “end game” may be Amanda and Devon.
And it that’s the case, then Elena is going to have some serious heartbreak coming her way. We could be looking at a situation in which Elena has to slowly watch Devon realize that he’s attracted to Amanda.
Of course, Devon really does seem to love Elena, so he probably wouldn’t want to admit even to himself that he’s falling for Amanda. But Devon could get to the point where he can’t deny the truth to himself…and that could lead to utter devastation for Elena.
We’ll see what happens here, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Devon ultimately ends up with Amanda, given how popular the Hilary/Devon pairing was. Of course, that would mean that Elena will be facing some tough times ahead.
