The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) may be found alive! As longtime Y&R fans know, Dru was last seen in 2007, when she literally went over a cliff and has not been seen since.
Rowell posted a hilariously entertaining video on her Instagram account where she refers to herself as Daytime Diva, while dressed in full costume in the area below Mount Lee, where the Hollywood Sign is located in Los Angeles, California.
The actor posted hashtagged comments aside of her video that light-heartedly send up her iconic character’s exit and long-awaited comeback. Rowell also encouraged fans to watch the award-winning streaming series, The Rich and the Ruthless, which she created, produces, directs, and stars in.

Rowell became a daytime sensation after her debut as Drucilla Barber. She and Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia Barber) played sisters, who were written into the show as an expansion of Mamie Johnson’s (Veronica Redd) family in 1990. Dru and Olivia are Mamie’s nieces.
However, hardcore soap opera fans know that Rowell’s daytime premiere came two years prior to her casting on Y&R. Her first soap role was on the beloved As The World Turns, where she played Nella Franklin in 1988.

Rowell and Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) formed one of the great Y&R couples in the 1990’s and 2000’s. Their family expanded through the birth of Lily Winters (as now played by Christel Khalil), though it was later revealed that Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) was Lily’s biological father, much to Dru’s surprise. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) was later adopted, which increased Dru and Neil’s family to four.
Dru and Neil’s rise to prominence in Genoa City, Wisconsin, was uplifting. Each actor’s individual talent and collaborative chemistry drew millions of fans sustained support.
St. John’s unexpected passing happened last year. Fittingly, Rowell returned to gather with cast mates as part of a tribute to their late friend and colleague. The sight of Rowell on that set and the feelings that she shared with her castmates were memorable and deeply meaningful for all viewers.

There are surely those who would have said that Rowell would never be seen on Y&R again, but she was as herself for an infinitely important reason. Natural speculation took hold after her appearance that Dru could be written back into the show. Again, it’s natural for some to believe that won’t happen.
Hope alone doesn’t make life happen. Instead, factors including persistence, and resilience allow people to achieve the seemingly impossible every single day.
Here’s hoping that an actor, who stands with the greats in the soap opera genre continues to succeed. Of course it would be great to see Rowell as Dru again, or even as another character on the show. But if that isn’t in the script, she will forever remain one of the all-time best.
