The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, March 13, teases that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) won’t be too enthusiastic about working with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). He’ll point out that she doesn’t even live in town, but Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) will argue that Lily can come back. Naturally, Lily will think it’s all a little premature since she hasn’t even agreed to this offer yet.
Jill will make a strong pitch about why Billy and Lily should work together. She’ll insist that either they both accept this offer or neither one will score the position. Lily will be on board, but Billy will suggest he liked the idea of being his own boss. Although Lily will get where Billy’s coming from, she’ll think she can bring a lot to the table. As they talk, it’ll become clear that they have very different visions.
At Jabot, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will talk to Jack Abbott Peter Bergman) about Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams), who’s mostly unresponsive now. They’ll eventually shift gears to the possibility of Billy and Lily teaming up. Soon after, Jack will get a text from Billy while Traci receives one from Lily. It won’t be long until Traci and Jack are stepping up to provide guidance.
Once Billy arrives at Jabot, he’ll talk to Jack about the offer he’s been presented with. Jack will guess Billy wants him to agree that it’s a bad idea. He’ll urge Billy to pass it up, but Billy will know his brother’s using reverse psychology. Jack will push Billy to look within and see that maybe this is the right decision.
At Society, Lily will share her concerns with Traci. She’ll realize she’s coming at this job from a different angle than Billy, so there’s the potential for clashing. However, Traci will point out that Lily’s concentrating on all the negatives here. She’ll feel like working with Billy would bring lots of new possibilities.
Later, Jill will reconvene with Lily and Billy to hear their decisions. They’ll ultimately choose to rise to the challenge. Over in Chance Chancellor’s (Donny Boaz) hotel suite, he’ll be forced to open the door to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will still be in her Phyllis getup, so she’ll hide while this confrontation plays out.
Phyllis will rant about Chance crossing a line with his recent break-in. Y&R spoilers say Chance will fire back about Phyllis crossing a line first. She did it when she recorded Chance’s conversation with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) in Vegas. Phyllis will drop a hint about possibly going public with that recording. She’ll add that Chance should change his dating profile and get someone who deserves him.
After Phyllis informs Chance that she’s keeping her proof, she’ll head out and leave Abby to reappear fuming. Abby will be more than ready to gain access to that safety deposit box and eliminate Phyllis’ leverage. Once Abby pulls off her goal, she’ll return to Chance’s suite with him and earn praise for her risk-taking.
Unfortunately, there’ll be some sad updates on Jared’s (Michael Maclane) grandfather. Jared will be upset over his grandpa’s death, but Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will do their best to console him. Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will get Jared to open up about what his grandfather was like.
Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will also try to help by offering Jared a place to live, but Jared won’t be keen on the idea. He grew up in the foster care system, so he won’t want to start living with people he doesn’t really know again. Amanda will pull Nate and Devon aside to offer a warning. She won’t think it’s wise to come on too strong, but Devon will be adamant about helping Jared. Soon after, Amanda and the others will notice Jared took off.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will prepare for another round of chemo. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will open the door for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), who’ll have a gift to help Sharon pass the time. It’s her old MP3 player, which has all her favorite songs on it.
At the ranch, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will reflect on Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Rogers) leaving town again. She liked having all her kids safe under one roof. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will be worried about Victoria’s mental state, so she’ll relay the news to Nick and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at Newman Enterprises.
Since Victoria seems so downcast and isolated, Nikki will want to get her some help. She’ll think maybe Sharon should speak with Victoria, but Victor won’t approve of that suggestion. Nick, on the other hand, will feel like it might work. Of course, what really matters here is if Victoria will be OK with it.
Once Rey brings Sharon home from her chemo session, Nikki will show up to seek assistance for her daughter. Sharon will insist Victoria should talk to someone with more experience. Nevertheless, Nikki will believe Sharon’s the right person for the job. She’ll think familiarity would be a good thing, so Sharon will agree to mull it over.
After Nikki exits, Rey will suggest this could serve as a distraction for Sharon, who clearly needs one due to her breast cancer. While Sharon’s upstairs, Nick will call Rey up and mention having to jet off to Chicago. He’ll reveal that he could use some help with Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind), so Rey will certainly do whatever he can.
