The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, October 16, tease that the Abbotts will finally face a loss they’ve been dreading. Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) has been fading for quite some time, so her family has had a chance to prepare for her death. Even so, watching someone slip away is never easy – and they could never truly be ready for this difficult goodbye.
When Jack realizes Dina’s final breath isn’t too far off, he’ll kick his necklace search efforts up a notch. Jack will be desperate to find the famous “teardrop of love” emerald before Dina passes away.
Although Jack knows it may not spark any flash of recognition for Dina, he hopes it might. If there’s a chance it might bring peace or some comforting sense of nostalgia, Jack wants to give that to Dina.
Of course, this necklace search seems more like a form of closure for Jack than anything. Jack’s always going to have some unresolved issues when it comes to his mother, but this is one issue he can resolve – at least if the necklace is found in time.
Fortunately, there’ll indeed be a Dina and “teardrop of love” reunion on Friday. The emerald will be discovered, but there’s no word on where.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will save the day somehow, so that could mean the emerald will indeed be found in the contents of the safe deposit box from London.
Then again, that seems like a boring, predictable outcome since Y&R already spelled out the possibility it could be there. This has been a long and winding mystery, so maybe the show won’t wrap it up that neat and tidy. It’d be far more interesting if Lauren was able to point Jack in the direction of a new necklace owner.
Y&R fans still aren’t in the loop on what Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) had in that tiny gift box for Summer Newman (Hunter King). Summer never opened it on screen and surely didn’t keep it when she took off. It’d be great if Kyle had the necklace all this time and could give the emerald back to his dying grandmother.
Regardless, The Young and the Restless spoilers say the necklace will be found just before Dina’s death. It may be like the final signal that tells Dina it’s time to go.
Before Dina goes, we’ll see Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) comfort each other. There’ll be some sweet scenes as Abby and Traci steady themselves for the grief that’s brewing.
Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will also open up to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) as she comes to grips with Dina’s imminent death. Victor will console Ashley before she gathers around Dina with her loved ones.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say there’ll also be appearances by Cathy Marks and Jonathan Stoddard, who play Young Dina and John Abbott. It looks like those appearances will be about wrapping up the necklace saga before Dina’s gone.
Y&R will offer a little glimpse of the past before Dina crosses over.
