The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease GC Buzz is back with new episodes – well, sort of! Many Y&R fans miss the show Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) served as cohosts on, so the CBS soap is reviving it for a special two-day series. However, this won’t quite be the GC Buzz you remember.
That’s because it’ll all take place over Zoom and will feature interviews with Y&R cast members rather than characters. Of course, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a “scandal” or two! Secrets might be spilled as Camryn Grimes and Mishael Morgan gab with their costars. There’ll definitely be some intriguing conversations.
The Young and the Restless announced this exciting cast project on social media and included a video from the cohosts. In the vid, Morgan and Grimes talked about how much they’ve missed each other before dishing on what’s ahead. Grimes suggested that the only thing she’s missed more than Morgan is GC Buzz.
“So…we’re bringing it back!” Grimes exclaimed. “Yes, we are,” Morgan added. “The Y&R cast is coming together just for you – our fans. You don’t want to miss it.” This two-part series will be posted CBS.com as well as the The Young and the Restless Facebook page. Part one will be available on May 7 starting at 6:00 p.m. ET.
In an interview with TV Insider, Grimes and Morgan opened up about what it was like to shoot over Zoom. It presented some new challenges, but Morgan and Grimes got plenty of help. These Y&R stars were given support as they worked to put on a fantastic show.
“We had rehearsals to understand how this would all work,” Grimes said. “It takes away a bit of spontaneity, but I think we came up with something really great that will make everyone happy. We’re co-hosts but we’re also kind of writing and directing, too. Our team is so freaking incredible. They held our hands every step of the way.”
“It’s about working with new parameters,” Morgan said. “We can’t talk over each other on Zoom. That would disrupt the flow. It’s all about learning new skills.”
We’re sure Morgan and Grimes did some terrific work. It’ll be fun to catch up with all our favorite Y&R actors and see what they’ve been up to at home. We’ll keep you posted on any other important news and updates.
