The Young and the Restless spoilers document the Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) does have a good relationship with his younger son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). But Jack apparently hasn’t seen his older son, Keemo Abbott (Philip Moon), in many years.
Longtime Y&R fans recall the 1994 storyline that had Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) befriend Luan Volien (Elizabeth Sung), who owned a favored restaurant in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Luan proved to be someone that Jack had a relationship with while he was serving in Vietnam and unbeknownst to him, was the father of her now adult son, Keemo.
After nearly a quarter-century away from his dad, Y&R can write Moon’s character back into the show. The drama potential involving Jack, Kyle, and others would surely be significant, assuming this comeback happens.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Keemo Volien Embraces His Family
Luan was shot during a robbery, which prompted her to ask Chris to locate Keemo, who was living in Vietnam. Bell’s character and Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) eventually located him a remote area of that country. Keemo, who bitterly believed that his parents had abandoned him, came to accept his mother and father.
Jack and Luan married. Sung’s character died of cancer, which created some stress between Jack and Keemo. All was eventually resolved and Moon’s character decided to return to Vietnam with his sister, Mai Volien (Marianne Rees).
While the above was playing out, Mary-Jo Mason (Diana Barton) was upset by Jack’s reconnection with Luan. As the plot developed, Mary-Jo, whose real name was Marilyn Blade, had an affair with Keemo. Their connection was brief, as Barton’s character betrayed Jack’s first-born son.
Jack became involved with Mary-Jo following Luan’s death. He later received a letter from Keemo warning him to not marry Barton’s character. Mary-Jo later shot Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and kidnapped Christine. Barton’s character was institutionalized and hasn’t been seen since 1996.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Philip Moon’s Entertainment Resume
Moon’s first role was on the beloved Guiding Light in 1984. He also appeared on As the World Turns in 1998 and earned numerous television and movie credits before being cast on Y&R in 1994.
The actor worked on various TV shows, most notably Deadwood, for a number of episodes in 2005. He’s appeared many movie and television projects, including True Detective in 2015. Moon’s next announced role is in a movie that’s titled Shanghai Shanghai TV.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Return Confrontation In Genoa City
Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) deteriorating condition seems like the obvious and realistic way to write Keemo back into the show. He would naturally want to see his grandmother during what’s anticipated as the last part of her life. The interplay and potential jealously angle between Kyle and Keemo would surely provided fodder as well.
Along with the above, Mary-Jo’s escape and aim at the father and son she was once involved with would also be accepted by the audience in a sharply presented storyline.
