The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one former daytime drama star is setting the record straight. Ever since Kristian Alfonso decided to depart the role of Hope Brady on Days of Our Lives, fans have been hoping another soap would snatch her up.
Alfonso would no doubt make the perfect love interest for Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) if Y&R created a character for her.
In fact, there’s so much buzz surrounding the idea that some viewers already assumed Alfonso was headed to The Young and the Restless. One fan in particular asked when Alfonso’s first Y&R airdate would be, so she had to break the news that she wouldn’t be joining the show.
Unfortunately, Alfonso won’t be joining the casts of The Bold and the Beautiful or General Hospital either. The former DOOL star’s updates are disappointing, but she did offer plenty of praise for Y&R, B&B and GH in her recent tweet.
Alfonso certainly seems to value her time in the soap world and has a great respect for the genre.
“lol to disappoint but I don’t have any plans to join Y&R :) or General Hospital or B&B all amazing well done ,creative shows,” Alfonso said on Twitter. Of course, this led some fans to hold out hope that Alfonso might reprise her role as Hope Brady on Days of Our Lives. Could Hope show up back in Salem?
One Twitter user suggested Days hadn’t been the same without Alfonso playing Hope. She hoped to see Alfonso somewhere soon. Alfonso somewhat cryptically replied, “You will :)) in Feb & March.”
Naturally, that could mean anywhere – and Alfonso does have some Hallmark movies in the works that should debut around then.
There’s no word on Alfonso coming back to Days at this point, but never say never. They could definitely use Hope for a big story involving her missing daughter, Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal), so let’s hope the show works out a deal.
As for what’s ahead on The Young and the Restless, Jack seems poised to fall for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), which most fans don’t seem thrilled about.
Nevertheless, that may be the pairing Y&R goes with – at least for a while. It’s a shame Alfonso couldn’t have joined the show and slid in Jack’s new love interest spot!
