The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will have a reason to grow closer. During the week of January 20-24, Kyle and Summer will head out on a road trip. It seems likely they’ll be teaming up on some Jabot project – one that’s not far enough to bother firing up the Jabot jet, yet far enough to help them bond.
We should point out that Kyle will also open up to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) around this time. He may confess that the tension is rising in his marriage to Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle). Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will continue to come between them, and this road trip with Summer probably isn’t going to help either.
However, Jack might suggest a little break would do Kyle and Lola some good. Sometimes it’s best to take a step back and come together later. Jack may think it’ll all work itself out after this apparent business trip.
Whatever the case, it sounds like it’ll be a deal that Kyle specifically needs Summer’s expertise on. The Young and the Restless spoilers say they’ll soon find themselves on the road, where they may confide in each other.
Kyle’s definitely been seeing Summer’s positive attributes lately. As for Summer, she’s been pining for Kyle from the moment he decided to reunite with Lola.
Of course, a road trip brings the possibility for a classic soap predicament. It’s typical in a situation like this for a duo to run into car trouble or inclement weather. Will Y&R take the typical soapy route and have Kyle get stranded with Summer?
If so, The Young and the Restless might pull something similar to the time Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) were forced to share a hotel room.
Can you imagine Lola’s reaction to Kyle and Summer sharing a room? She certainly wouldn’t be pleased, so Kyle and Summer might opt to keep it a secret – even if the night happens to be innocent.
Then again, it’s possible some cheating might actually go down. Goodness knows this soap needs some! We’re long overdue for some bed hopping since it’s a staple of the genre.
While Kyle’s away, Theo may play. It seems likely he’ll pounce on the opportunity to cozy up to lonely, jealous Lola. Theo may find subtle ways to rub in that Kyle’s on the road with Summer.
Theo might fuel Lola’s insecurities and leave her wondering exactly what’s going on between the exes. There could just as easily be cheating concerns when it comes to Lola and Theo.
