The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will need someone new to spar with thanks to Theo Vanderway’s (Tyler Johnson) decision to move to Paris. Y&R could use another rivalry to fill the void, so who could step up as a formidable foe for Kyle? Let’s consider some options as we look to the future.
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) could certainly end up clashing with Kyle once her own rivalry with Summer Newman (Hunter King) heats up. Nevertheless, we were thinking more along the lines of a separate rival for Kyle.
Summer and Sally are quickly becoming enemies, so maybe we can give Kyle his own feud with another guy. It’d make up for what’s missing now that the cousin battle is over. The Young and the Restless could bring someone new on to essentially take Theo’s place.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have another male character in that age range since we’ve got Sally, Summer and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) to think about. If all three of them stick around, something has to give!
Kyle can’t date all of them, so it’d be nice to see another hunk come on the scene. He could serve as a new rival for Kyle and find love with someone on canvas.
Of course, there are other options to consider depending on what Y&R’s story plans are. If they want to make Kyle’s rivalry strictly about business, they could put Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) back at Newman Enterprises and have things get cutthroat.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) sold Newman’s cosmetic division to Jabot, but Adam might find some loophole to get it back or simply give it a fresh start. Adam could revive the cosmetics division and battle it out with Kyle.
It’d pit Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) son against Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) son, which seems fitting after all Victor and Jack’s years at war.
However, the option that’d probably work best would be to bring Noah Newman (Robert Scott Wilson) back to Genoa City. Having Victor’s grandson go up against Kyle would bring just as much Newman-Abbott drama.
Plus, Noah could be paired with Lola or Sally. He’d work as part of the younger set and could fill the business battle void, too.
Bottom line, Kyle needs a new rivalry with Theo out of the picture. Noah might be the best fit all things considered, but there might be other possibilities down the road. We’ll offer updates as other Y&R news emerges.
