The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there’s one dropped storyline that might be worth revisiting. Y&R viewers will remember the infamous story of what happened in New York. We saw some flashbacks involving what went down after Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Theo Vanderway’s (Tyler Johnson) party got out of hand.
Zoe Hardisty (Anna Grace Barlow) was underage at the time and had to be rushed to the hospital after having too much to drink. That led to Kyle paying off Zoe’s father, but the whole secret seemed like much ado about nothing. Now that Kyle’s divorced from Lola, that story is a non-issue. Summer knows all about it and has no problem with Kyle’s past mistakes.
However, do we really know EVERYTHING that happened in New York? Since New York was something that Theo frequently held over Kyle’s head, there’s still a chance it could come back around and be important. It was certainly mentioned enough to be!
What if Theo’s still got a secret or two in his back pocket – perhaps something that could rock even Summer to the core? Maybe even Kyle himself doesn’t know the extent of the messes he made.
Since Kyle was such a wild swinging bachelor in NYC, he spent all his time partying, drinking and hooking up with girls. It’s the drunken hookups that could still come back to haunt Kyle.
Could Kyle have a secret child out there that he doesn’t know about? Y&R will need an obstacle to throw at Summer and Kyle eventually. Their story right now pretty much consists of patting each other on the back at work and sleeping together. That’s not a storyline that can give them any kind of gripping material and won’t result in sustainable airtime.
Zoe surely isn’t the only girl who could come out of the woodwork from Kyle’s New York days. It’d be a great twist if some woman from Kyle’s past appeared and introduced him to his young son or daughter. A little girl seems like the cutest and most fun way to go.
Can you imagine Kyle instantly becoming a dad and all the challenges that would bring? The bombshell would deliver some struggles for Summer, too. Summer might even feel threatened by Kyle’s “baby mama,” so that could kick off a whole new storyline and even a love triangle.
Do you think there’s more to the story of what happened in New York – maybe even more than Kyle himself knows? Whether Theo’s keeping another secret or not, it’d be interesting if Kyle and Summer faced a shocker. A long-lost kid would be the perfect new hurdle for “Skyle.”
