The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) may soon find himself unemployed and facing a real setback. Y&R fans know Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has pitted the feuding cousins against each other in a Jabot rebranding challenge. Theo and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) are determined to win no matter what, so there’s bound to be trouble.
Based on The Young and the Restless buzz out there, it seems Theo will ultimately wind up scoring a job at Chancellor Media. That makes sense considering Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) saw real potential in Theo right away.
Although Jill knows the fire within Theo can be dangerous, she also knows talent when she sees it and believes that energy can be harnessed.
There’s a good chance Theo will face a comeuppance that leads to him getting the boot at Jabot. If Theo’s takeover plot with Kendra is exposed, that could bring issues in his personal life, too.
Although Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) is getting a divorce from Kyle, she still cares about him. The idea of Theo showing his true colors and targeting Kyle may not go over well with Lola.
That’s especially true since Theo lied to Lola after Kendra showed up at Society. Lola doesn’t like dishonesty, especially after the way she got burned in her last relationship.
Kyle lied to Lola, Summer Newman (Hunter King) and even himself! Since Kyle wasn’t honest about his feelings for Summer, it brought a marriage that ended in total heartbreak.
Although this won’t be exactly the same thing, Lola may not be willing to tolerate Theo’s deception. She’s been dragging her feet on getting involved with Theo, so she may be looking for an excuse to bail anyway.
In other words, Theo could lose his shot at love with Lola after he loses his job. That’d really put Theo down in the dumps, but it could also open up a new opportunity. Could getting hired at Chancellor Media bring another romantic option?
Many Y&R fans have grown tired of the same old pairings in Genoa City. If The Young and the Restless wants to deliver a fresh option, they could make Theo interested in Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Even if it didn’t turn into much, perhaps Theo and Lily could kiss or hook up. A good dose of jealousy might even be enough to reel Lola back in.
There’s surely a reason Y&R apparently plans to put Theo at Chancellor Media – and this would be an interesting one. Could the show pair up Lily and Theo? It’s easy to imagine Theo using Lily to make Lola want him again. That’s just the kind of guy Theo is!
Nothing romantic is happening between Lily and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) yet, so this is the ideal time to strike. Billy might even battle some unexpected jealousy right along with Lola. There’d be a lot of potential for drama if Theo used this steamy strategy.
