The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Lola's Story Closing, Written Out of Y&R – Sasha Calle Made 'Kola' Great

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) has little storyline left to play. Lola’s recent need to check on construction at the restaurant she’s opening in Miami, Florida, was a foreshadowing of this likable character’s Y&R exit path.

As readers of this site know, Sasha Calle’s character is being written out of the show. With that, Kola’s divorce, and no new options in Genoa City, Wisconsin, Y&R fans are witnessing Lola’s last moments, which is regrettable.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lola & Kyle Had More Love Story To Tell

A decision was made, for whatever reason(s). Kola, the mashing of the first letter of Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) first name and the last three letters of Lola’s name, was loved by many fans. It appeared as though this fresh couple had plenty of love story left, but actually didn’t.

Some fans may have felt shortchanged in investing a significant amount of episode time in watching the buildup of Kyle and Lola’s relationship, which began at Living La Vida Lola. It does feel that somewhere along the way in this arc there was a shift in feeling, which resulted in the desire to re-pair Kyle and Summer Newman (Hunter King).

King is a tenured cast member. Mealor’s character has a much longer personal history with Summer, than he does with Lola. So, however unfortunate, it is logical that Skyle was revived.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kyle Abbott’s Feelings Reverted to Summer Newman?

It was obvious that Kyle fell in love with Lola. There can be no definitive statement made that he simply rebounded from Summer, as human emotions are fully subjective.

As for Summer, she blew Kyle off and also alienated him by acting in an extremely self-centered and immature manner upon her return to GC a few years ago. So, it made sense that he was fed up with her, broke free, and then found Lola to be an attractive option.

So, did Kyle’s feelings revert to Summer? Well, that appears to be something that even he wasn’t sure of, if that’s what was happening within the last few months of Kola’s reign.

Since Lola did nothing to alienate him, even including her friendship with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson), then it’s reasonable to say that yes, Kyle’s feelings reverted to Summer. That doesn’t mean he shifted his love from one woman back to the other, but merely recognized what was in his heart all along.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Was Lola Rosales Played?

No. It’s not fair to say that Kyle was stringing Lola along the whole time. The depth of his feeling can’t be measured, or compared. Instead, he was being honest in saying that he loved Lola. Calle’s character has also admitted that.

Basically, because Summer stuck around and didn’t give up on love, Kyle was forced to confront his overall feelings. The decision to end Kola was hard, but needed, and he moved forward.

Lola can return to Miami, Florida, to open her restaurant, possibly breaking up with fired Theo. But when there, or wherever, occasional thoughts of Kola should be recalled with fondness because her relationship with Kyle was real.
