The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a new face is set to make her debut in Genoa City. According to Deadline, Madison Thompson starts work as a character named Jordan on September 29 and will first air in late October.
Thompson’s role remains somewhat mysterious, but Jordan’s supposed to be a “worldly young woman who will prove that there’s more than meets the eye.”
Thompson is fresh off the third season of Netflix’s Ozark, which the 19-year-old actress played the major recurring role of Erin in. Some of Thompson’s other projects include a short stint on Kevin {Probably) Probably Saves the World as well as guest spots on NCIS: New Orleans, American Housewife, Henry Danger and more.
After the news broke, Thompson posted the announcement on Instagram and seems thrilled about her new daytime gig. “so excited to finally share that I am joining the @youngandrestlesscbs !!!” Thompson said. She also thanked her talent group, team and family who made this possible.
Thompson is 19 in real life, but she could easily play a bit younger. That’d put her in the right range to be some older high schooler who has a bad influence on Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) – perhaps someone Faith knew back in boarding school who comes to town and makes trouble.
Then again, maybe Jordan could be some influencer Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) finds for Chancellor Communications – someone who turns out to have a surprising connection or two in Genoa City that she’s hiding.
There’s always the potential for long-lost children on The Young and the Restless, so you never know!
Jordan could even be the sister or daughter of the Vegas widow if that’s the direction Y&R wants to take things. Whatever the case, Jordan could cause some problems since she’s worldly and there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to her character.
That suggests Jordan’s mature and not easily fooled, which could make her a threat. It also suggests Jordan’s got a few secrets and tricks up her sleeve! There’ll undoubtedly be more revealed about Jordan as time goes on, so it’ll be interesting to see who she really is and who she’ll turn out to be connected to on canvas.
