The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will get kidnapped during the week of November 2-6, so that presents the natural questions of who’ll do it and why. However, perhaps it’s the “where” we should be focusing on. Let’s consider some crucial clues that might help to solve this mystery.
Y&R fans can expect Chelsea to freak over a secret plan on Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) laptop. A quick visit to the penthouse will result in Chelsea discovering Adam’s plot for the Newman Tower.
Although Adam will deny that he’s up to anything shady, Chelsea won’t believe him. She’ll promptly summon Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) to the Chancellor mansion to talk about the threat Adam poses.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea will open the door later – presumably thinking it’s Chance. Unfortunately, it’ll be a masked man on a mission. There’ll be a struggle before Chelsea is abducted and held hostage elsewhere.
Based on the timing of this incident, Y&R may want us to believe Adam will send someone to kidnap Chelsea so she won’t spoil his scheme. Nevertheless, this could be a bit of misdirection from the writers. That brings back to the topic of where this will happen: the Chancellor mansion.
The Young and the Restless could’ve just let Chelsea stay in a suite at The Grand Phoenix. It feels like half the town’s living there at this point! Instead, Y&R had Chelsea become Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin Fisher’s (Greg Rikaart) new roommate.
It feels like this could be about more than just giving Kevin and Chloe something to do.
After all, Chelsea could’ve been snatched anywhere. Why will she specifically be kidnapped at the Chancellor mansion? Could this tie in with the jam Gloria Fisher Bardwell’s (Judith Chapman) gotten herself into?
Gloria blew into Genoa City claiming she wanted to spend time with her family, but there was obviously more to it than that. Y&R viewers saw Gloria hide a flash drive, which she ultimately left in a decorative trinket box on the table behind the sofa.
Kevin also overheard Gloria on the phone wondering how this could’ve happened and hissing about how she tried to warn someone “that night.” Gloria insisted she wouldn’t let this person hang it on her this time.
Gloria offered a clearly bogus story to Kevin afterward about a minor financing issue, but he wouldn’t stop grilling her about what was going on. That led to Gloria deciding she’d had enough and would just leave.
Kevin refused to stop Gloria since he was concerned about the danger to Chloe and the kids. He repeatedly mentioned how important it was to keep his family out of Gloria’s trouble.
Since Kevin was worried about Chloe potentially being targeted, what if Chelsea is mistaken for Chloe? Someone could easily be instructed to snatch Kevin’s love and just assume Chelsea is her.
This masked man might get a vague description of a woman about that age with dark hair and just grab Chelsea since she’s in the right spot. He wouldn’t realize Chelsea just moved in. The kidnapper would think Chloe’s the only one living there that fits that description.
Gloria’s story isn’t over since she left that flash drive behind – and Y&R still hasn’t revealed the trouble she’s caught up in. Will Chelsea become a victim of mistaken identity? Chelsea is at least Miles Fisher’s godmother, so the kidnapper may just have to roll with it!
The problem is Gloria may not care too much about Chelsea’s well-being. It may take some convincing on Kevin’s part to get Gloria to help. Of course, Kevin and Chloe will have to solve this mystery first if Gloria is indeed the reason for Chelsea’s drama.
