The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, December 14, tease that Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will feel a bit deflated after his next chat with Summer Newman (Hunter King).
Y&R fans know Summer accidentally gave Theo a big confidence boost when she brought up Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) winning her lawsuit against Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
It left Theo thinking he’d win his millions no problem and would come out unscathed on the other side.
However, that was a different situation entirely. Theo has to take responsibility for his own actions – and the truth of the matter is he’s being greedy. Would Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) have set aside an inheritance for Theo if she’d known him when she was lucid?
Maybe, but Dina didn’t leave an inheritance for Eric Vanderway (Jon Briddell), the son she gave up for adoption. Dina’s wishes were Dina’s wishes and that’s that.
Theo certainly hasn’t done anything to warrant taking Dina’s entire estate! If Theo hadn’t provoked Kyle for months, plotted against Kyle’s relationships, cheated at the Jabot job he wasn’t qualified for and lied to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), perhaps things would be different.
Theo just wanted to be accepted by the Abbotts, but he consistently fond ways to sabotage himself – just like he’s doing right now.
Summer will remind Theo of all this and make another attempt to talk him out of the lawsuit. She’ll think Theo wants a quick payday and to inflict pain on the Abbotts.
Summer won’t think this is really about what’s fair – because it’s not fair for Theo to take Dina’s entire fortune when the poor woman couldn’t even comprehend who he was. This isn’t Theo’s decision to make.
Theo will take Summer’s words to heart and wonder if maybe he should back out of the lawsuit after all. While Theo ponders that option, he’ll decide to give Summer some advice as well.
Since Theo knows Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) plans to go after Summer’s job and use Kyle as a pawn, he’ll let Summer know what’s coming.
Later, Theo will sit down for another meeting with Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodland). The Young and the Restless spoilers say Theo will ask if he has a real shot of winning the case.
Brittany will admit the chances are pretty slim all things considered. Theo’s paying Brittany to fight to the bitter end, but she’ll warn that she may not be able to win this.
The Young and the Restless spoilers state that Theo will eventually reconvene with Jack, so that’ll bring a faceoff that’s emotional and intense. Whatever Jack says to Theo will either convince him to move forward or make him decide to back off.
The choice will be Theo’s to make, so we’ll see what he decides to do on Monday.
In the meantime, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will have more career concerns. It looks like Nate’s job at the hospital will be in jeopardy since he can’t perform surgeries anymore.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nate will hope for the best, prepare for the worst and await some important updates.
