The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, January 6, teases that Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will try to explain. At home, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will be upset that Tessa hid her marriage to Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman). Tessa will be apologetic and admit there’s no excuse, but she freaked out after Tanner got in touch. She worried there might be a problem with the divorce.
Tessa will tell Mariah the story of how she connected with Tanner. Life banged them both up pretty good, so they could relate to each other. Tessa ended up singing backup when Tanner was on the dive bar circuit. She thought it’d be her way out, and Tanner was looking for his big break. They got drunk in Reno one night and married in a moment of spontaneity.
When Mariah questions why they didn’t have it annulled, Tessa will acknowledge that they knew it was insane to be married. They were just young and having fun chasing their dreams. Tessa will suggest that the fun eventually stopped, so they made the mutual decision to end things. She’ll assure Mariah that she was never in love with Tanner.
Mariah will be upset that they’ve got lingering trust issues. She won’t understand why it’s still Tessa’s default setting to lie. Tessa will plead with Mariah to believe that Tanner meant nothing and that Mariah means everything. She’ll beg Mariah to tell her that’s enough.
Mariah will feel like an idiot for gushing over Tessa’s meeting. She’ll get that the past is the past, but she’ll think Tessa should’ve come clean once Tanner got in touch. Mariah will need to think, so she’ll grab her coat and leave. A little later, Tessa will answer the door to Tanner, who’ll wonder if this is a bad time.
Meanwhile, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will keep Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) in the dark on her doctor’s appointment. When Rey notices Sharon’s nervousness, she’ll suggest she’s just got a few things to handle herself. Y&R spoilers say Sharon fib about having to meet with the coffee man. Rey will leave and come back to find that Sharon’s gone.
Once Sharon ultimately reappears, she’ll lie that she met up with the coffee man in his office. Sharon will allude to having some things to mull over, but she’ll carve out some time for lunch with Rey. Next, Sharon will step in the backroom to breathe in and out deeply.
After Rey gets a work call and has to take off, Sharon will call to set up a mammogram and an ultrasound. Next, Mariah will come in looking troubled. Sharon will immediately sense that something’s wrong, so Mariah will admit she’s scared. She’ll be afraid everything is going to change.
At Newman Enterprises, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be in work mode as Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) stands nearby. Once Victoria hangs up, they’ll discuss her upcoming trip to Singapore and COO hunt.
Nick won’t be interested in the job, but he’ll want to bring Victoria up to speed on his split. He’ll confess that he doesn’t know where thing stand with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will walk in and get updates on the breakup as well. Nick will admit separating from Chelsea was inevitable. Once Nick’s done spilling, Nikki will warn him to please stay away from Sharon. Nick will chuckle since Sharon predicted Nikki’s reaction.
At the penthouse, Chelsea will worry about telling Connor that she’s living there permanently. Adam will insist it’ll be the last change their son has to deal with. Connor will eventually learn that Chelsea’s staying and has decided to just be friends with Nick. He’ll ask if they’re a real family now, so Chelsea and Adam will assure him that they’re going to build a strong one.
After Connor cries tears of joy, Adam will speak to a child therapist Sharon suggested. He’ll conclude his phone chat before turning his attention to Chelsea. They’ll talk about how intense Adam can be and how he tried to have Chelsea arrested the last time she turned him down. Adam will contend that things are different now – although he’s terrified since he knows this is his last shot.
Chelsea will acknowledge how hard Adam’s trying to prove himself, but she’ll still need a little time before she’s ready to recommit. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea won’t take too long since they’ll make love later this week! We’ll keep you posted as other Y&R news comes in.
