The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the CBS soap is gearing up for the return of new episodes, so fans are hoping for some hot plots. The show will undoubtedly deliver some relationship problems – and one easy way to do that is through betrayals. Who will be Y&R’s next cheater? Whose steamy affair will blow things up once new episodes start airing again?
It’s not a matter of IF someone will cheat on a soap; it’s a matter of WHEN! People have been having affairs for decades on The Young and the Restless. Sometimes a couple’s going through a rough time, which can lead to seeking comfort elsewhere. Other times misunderstandings can pile up and result in a night of forbidden passion.
There are plenty of ways for cheating to happen, but the point is that it does happen. With that in mind, we’re bound to see another affair or two on new Y&R episodes. Based on how the show left off, who do you think are the top cheating contenders? Do you see the potential for a heartbreaking betrayal on canvas soon?
Since Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) on the verge of spinning out, he’s certainly a possibility to consider. Adam is a wildcard anyway, so the risk of him cheating could be high. Although Adam adores Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), he’s an impulsive guy who always seems to sabotage himself.
It’s easy to imagine Adam landing in bed with someone else, even if he’s just hoping to shove Chelsea away. There’s also Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson), who’s doing his best to be patient and wait for Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) to come around.
However, patience isn’t Theo’s forte – and he’s known for being a bit impulsive, too.
Theo may not be in a full-blown relationship with Lola, but you can bet he’d blow his chance with her if he wound up sleeping with another woman. Lola would still view it as a betrayal and would be glad she decided to take things slow!
Although it’d hurt if Theo hooked up with somebody else, at least Lola would be able to cut ties before she got in too deep.
Next, we’ve got Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). They’re both passionate people – and neither one has a great track record when it comes to staying faithful. “Phick” is destined to crash and burn somehow, so we’d better keep an eye on these two and the company they keep.
Finally, there’s Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Amanda’s entered a new romance with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), but will she break his heart? It’s clear that Amanda still feels something for Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), even if she can’t quite wrap her head around it.
Amanda seems to be fighting lingering feelings for Billy, so what happens if she loses that fight? If Nate and Amanda are a solid couple by then, Nate could face serious devastation.
Naturally, there are other potential cheaters on Y&R. It happens to the best of ‘em! The Young and the Restless has to deliver drama, so no couple is ever completely safe.
