The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will continue to support Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) as she overcomes her cancer and ultimately wraps up that storyline. What happens then? Sharon and Rey have been on solid ground for a while now. Any last bit of drama they had will dry up, so Y&R might be looking to make some changes with Rey.
Could Rey and Sharon wind up with other love interests at the end of all this? Right now, everyone just wants Sharon to get better. Sharon’s recovery is all that matters, so Rey and everybody else on “Team Sharon” is focused on that. Rey certainly cares about Sharon and doesn’t want to lose her.
Likewise, Sharon is filled with gratitude over Rey’s steady stream of support. Rey has really been Sharon’s rock, which has been nice to see. It’s great that Sharon has someone like Rey to lean on at a time like this.
Of course, Sharon’s been leaning on Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) as well. They’ve shared some close moments during this cancer battle, so the door’s always open for a “Shick” reunion down the road.
Nick is currently with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), but that just isn’t going to last according to Joshua Morrow. Phyllis and Nick’s relationship will inevitably implode, so it’s best to think about what’s ahead for Nick, too.
As for Sharon and Rey, it’s easy to imagine them parting ways on good terms eventually. Rey and Sharon were clearly meant to be together during Sharon’s cancer crisis. It’s an experience that has brought them closer and strengthened their bond.
However, there’s a big difference between loving someone and being IN love with someone. After this cancer story concludes, that’s something Y&R could explore here.
Perhaps Sharon and Rey could realize there’s indeed love between them, but not the kind they want to build a future on. They may accept that maybe friendship is what’s best – particularly if they develop feelings for other people.
There’d be plenty of possibilities to choose from, but Nick is the one that’d make the most sense for Sharon. “Shick” always comes back around sooner or later. Joshua Morrow and Sharon Case have fantastic chemistry, so The Young and the Restless should take advantage of it. There’s no point in letting that magic go to waste!
Many Y&R fans feel like Nick and Sharon are endgame. They could be like Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) once they’re a bit older and wiser. Sharon and Nick could finally become one of those forever supercouples that accepts their fate.
