The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that many Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) fans are always going to hold out hope for their reunion. Although Sharon’s in a stable relationship with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) right now, that doesn’t mean things will stay that way forever. Likewise, this Nick and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) reboot isn’t going to be a forever kind of love.
Although Phyllis stirs up Nick’s passionate and fun side, maybe that’s not the side he needs to be focusing on at this stage of his life. There’s more to relationships than sleeping together.
Sharon’s situation has certainly been showing Nick that you have to be there for people when it counts. It’s clear that Sharon’s ordeal has affected Nick emotionally and perhaps changed him right along with Sharon.
Before Sharon’s surgery, she pulled Nick aside to ask them to be there for Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) if anything went wrong. Nick and Sharon’s tender moment really highlighted the love that’s still between these two. They have a family together and that’s always going to connect them.
Despite Sharon and Nick’s rocky history, they’re in a good place as friends and trust each other. Some Y&R viewers may not want to destroy that friendship with another failed reunion attempt, but what if it wasn’t a failure this time? Sharon’s experience has definitely made her value what’s most important in life. It seems like his ex’s experience has helped Nick see that, too.
Nick’s had some problems with cheating in the past, including during the last “Shick” reunion that blew up over a hookup with Phyllis. However, Nick may be poised to break up with Phyllis and officially put her behind him.
Could the time be right for Nick and Sharon to reunite? Can Nick be a better man for Sharon now, particularly after this cancer battle and everything they’ve overcome?
Rey has been good for Sharon, but he may not be the guy she’s meant to be with permanently. Can Sharon’s love for Rey compete with the love she had for Nick? Sharon and Nick always seem to find their way back to each other – as many of these Young and the Restless classics have proven.
Maybe “Shick” could have a real shot now that both Sharon and Nick have grown so much.
