The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will a new reason to battle once new episodes finally arrive. Y&R fans know these brothers most definitely don’t get along, so that’s not going to change anytime soon.
It seems like Adam and Nick always have something to spar over – whether it’s custody of Christian Newman (Alex Wilson), who should be with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), who belongs in the CEO chair and anything else they disagree on. No matter what the topic is, Nick and Adam tend to be on opposing sides.
That brings us to Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) cancer diagnosis, which she hasn’t shared with Adam just yet. Sharon has kept her inner circle pretty small, but Nick’s naturally been part of it. As Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and Noah Newman’s (Robert Adamson) dad, Nick needed to be involved here.
However, Sharon probably would’ve told Nick the truth anyway. She views Nick as a trustworthy friend – a safety net that she can always lean on. Sharon’s had an intense bond with Adam over the years as well, but chaos and destruction tend to swirl around him. Sharon had to put herself first, so keeping Adam at a distance was for the best.
Even so, The Young and the Restless spoilers say there’ll be less pressure on Sharon following her surgery. Without the weight of dreading the procedure, Sharon may finally feel comfortable opening up to Adam – especially if he overhears something and guesses that she’s been seriously ill. That could bring the opportunity for Adam to approach Sharon and put her on the spot.
Adam and Sharon’s relationship is often rocky, but he loves Sharon and would never turn his back on her at a time like this. Although it’s bound to sting that Sharon waited so long to say anything, Adam should insist he’s there for Sharon no matter what.
He’ll undoubtedly feel deeply for Sharon and what she’s been going through. Adam will just want to support Sharon in any way he can.
Unfortunately, this is where Nick could enter the picture and vehemently disagree that Adam should be around Sharon. Nick isn’t romantically involved with Sharon at the moment, but he’s quite protective of his ex.
Nick also loathes Adam and doesn’t trust him at all – particularly after the latest round of drama at Newman Enterprises.
It’s easy to imagine Nick interrupting a tender chat between Sharon and Adam. Nick might even derail a warm “Shadam” moment to warn Adam that he needs to steer clear of Sharon.
As far as Nick’s concerned, Adam could be a threat to Sharon’s recovery. Nick will likely want his toxic brother to stay as far away from Sharon as possible!
