The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is quite the schemer, but many of her plots tend to be thwarted. Y&R fans know Phyllis was obsessed with finding out Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chance Chancellor’s (Donny Boaz) Vegas secret. After Phyllis finally learned the truth and made a recording as evidence, she let Chance and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) gain the upper hand.
Phyllis is still disgruntled when it comes to Adam, who she attempted to befriend only to get burned. Adam tried to throw millions at Phyllis just to make her leave him alone, so that says a lot about what kind of “friendship” they were building.
However, it was when Adam pushed Phyllis to seduce Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that really sent Phyllis over the edge.
To be fair, Adam was obviously right about Phyllis wanting Nick back. They both got the love interests they wanted since Phyllis reunited with Nick and Adam reunited with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).
Of course, soaps aren’t usually filled with happy endings! It’s all about throwing more hurdles at these characters, so some breakups could be just around the corner.
What happens when Phyllis inevitably loses Nick? Phyllis can’t make Adam pay with that recording anymore unless another copy surfaces – and Phyllis truly doesn’t seem to have one. Perhaps Phyllis will shift gears and try to make Adam pay another way. Phyllis might determine that the best strategy to hurt Adam would be breaking his heart.
If Phyllis can’t be happy with Nick, she’ll probably want Adam to be just as miserable. Phyllis could easily try to sabotage Adam and Chelsea’s relationship. Considering Phyllis and her talent for destroying lives, we’re sure she could find some excellent ways to make it happen.
If Phyllis tries to ruin Chelsea and Adam’s romance, this would also be a great opportunity to put Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) in a new Young and the Restless story. Sharon and Phyllis agreed their feud would resume once Sharon recovered from her breast cancer, so they should stick to that plan!
Maybe Sharon could enter the mix and lash out at Phyllis for breaking up Adam’s family with Chelsea and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). Sharon gets frustrated with Adam, but she still cares about him.
Sharaon cares about Adam’s son as well, so Sharon might blast her rival and comfort Adam if Phyllis succeeds in “Chadam” destruction.
