The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) believed she’d outmaneuvered Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). After forcing Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) to relinquish her share in the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis thought that Abby was pushed into a corner as well.
Abby wanted to give Phyllis a perceived win. Counting on arrogance, Abby had legal papers drawn that agreed to Phyllis’ terms. Yes, she could buy out her equal partner in the hotel at the offered price. But there was a catch that appears to establish a juicy new storyline.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Not Into A Corner, But Across the Street
Phyllis thought that she’d won. Abby was faced with two lawsuits that alleged pain and suffering due to the Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) hostage situation. So, knowing that Phyllis provoked both plaintiffs into suing, Abby concluded that an endless stream of harassment was beginning.
Rather than choose to live in misery with Phyllis at the Phoenix, Abby created an alternative route. She met with a real estate agent and purchased an available tract of land that is located directly across the street from the hotel Phyllis wanted to solely own.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Wants Respect
She dubbed herself the phoenix last year, shortly after the recast of this character saw the great Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) replaced by the returning icon and original Red, Stafford.
Y&R began writing the Phyllis character back to her roots, with Stafford bringing her ever A-game to center stage. Hardcore fans recognized the revision and have been expecting this type of underhanded move at the hotel she thinks of as her comeback vehicle.
But Phyllis’ actions have almost always created blow back against her. In this instance, the respect she’s trying to force other people to have for her comes is fueled by condescension and leaves her open for reprisal.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Abby Newman Plays The Moustache Card
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) despises Phyllis for many reasons. That directly contrasts with the love he has for his second-born daughter, Abby.
As devoted viewers recall, the Moustache overheard Phyllis bragging that she would eventually edge Abby out of the Phoenix as the hotel project was getting off the ground last year. He passed that intel along to Abby at the time.
Y&R fans recognized Victor’s influence in Abby’s actions to extricate herself from Phyllis’ clutches, while simultaneously putting herself in prime position to battle Stafford’s character on the field of business. As long as Abby’s plan proceeds as expected, Phyllis will have an unwanted front row seat in the shadow of whatever the proposed new hotel will be called.
