The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Friday, December 11, tease that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston) will enjoy coffee at Crimson Lights as Chance tells Abby about his upcoming meeting with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc).
Chance will say that Michael plans to call him as a witness for the prosecution in the case against Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Meanwhile, at Society, Billy will tell Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that the prosecution’s secret witness is staying under the name Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue) in one of three hotels.
After talking briefly with Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and finding out that Celeste isn’t in town, Lily will make some calls and find out that only the Grand Phoenix has a guest by Celeste’s name, and she and Billy will head over to the Grand Phoenix so that Lily can talk with the witness.
In the kitchen, Abby will visit with Lola, telling her all about her wedding and honeymoon. Lola and Abby will also briefly discuss the charges against Billy, and Abby will say that she doesn’t want to believe it, but that she knows how deeply Billy’s hatred of Adam runs.
At the Grand Phoenix, Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) will catch up with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Victoria will needle Nina a bit about Ryan McNeil (Scott Reeves), and Nina will say that she’d hate to get on Victoria’s bad side again.
Victoria will reference her dispute over the hotel with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), which Nina will hear all about, then Victoria will take off.
Up in Phyllis’ suite, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will arrive as Phyllis is fussing with her business manager on the phone. Phyllis will explain to Nick that Victoria is exercising a clause in the contract and citing negligence so she can buy out Phyllis’ 25% of the hotel.
Nick will want to talk with Victoria, but Phyllis will say that she’s going with Nick.
In an interview room at the courthouse, Rey and Chance will talk following their meeting with Paul and Michael. Rey will muse that Billy had means, motive, and opportunity for the shooting, but he won’t be able to figure out why Billy would want to shoot Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) now.
Chance will say that Billy thinks he’s being framed, and Rey will say that Billy thinks it’s Adam who’s framing him, but both Rey and Chance won’t find that plausible.
Rey and Chance will consider Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) as a possible person who’s framing Billy, but they’ll agree that doesn’t make sense either. “Who’s left?” Chance will ask. “That’s what I keep asking myself,” Rey will say. Chance will say that he doesn’t want it to be Billy.
At Newman Enterprises, Phyllis and Nick will walk in to see Victoria, and Victoria will proceed to tell Phyllis that the Grand Phoenix had scandal after scandal under Phyllis’ watch and that equals negligence.
Phyllis and Victoria will argue, and Victoria will say that Phyllis has one week to vacate the hotel. Nick will try to intervene, but Victoria’s mind will be made up. Phyllis and Nick will leave.
Back at Society, Nick and Phyllis will regroup, and Nick will say that it’s time for Phyllis to consider hid offer of financial assistance. Phyllis will say no, but Nick will ultimately persuade Phyllis.
Phyllis will insist that it’s just a loan, and that she’ll pay back every single penny. Meanwhile, over at the bar, Rey will talk with Lola as he mulls over his case, and the two will talk about Christmas plans.
Back at the Grand Phoenix, Billy and Lily will arrive, and Lily will steal a moment and get on the hotel reservation system to find the mystery witness’ room number. Lily will go up to talk to the witness, while Billy encounters Chance and Abby in the lobby. Billy will get peeved when it seems that Abby doesn’t wholeheartedly believe in his innocence.
Later, Chance and Abby will go to their suite to pack their things as they prepare to move into the Chancellor mansion. And upstairs, Lily will knock on the door of the mystery witness and wait for an answer.
Back at Newman Enterprises, Phyllis will burst in to see Victoria, offering her 35% over market value for the Grand Phoenix and saying it’s a great deal for Newman Enterprises.
Phyllis will take a moment then she’ll accept the offer, but she’ll needle Phyllis, saying that she obviously got the money from Nick and that this wasn’t a win for her.
Phyllis will return to Society where Nick will be waiting. Phyllis will tell Nick the good news about Victoria accepting her offer, but Nick will note that she doesn’t seem happy about it.
Phyllis will say that she feels awful, and that Nick did this, not her. Nick will insist that entrepreneurs get capital all the time and it’s no big deal, but Phyllis will be upset, saying that she’s a failure and wants to be alone.
