The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Friday, September 11, tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will talk through the motel door as Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) listens from inside, not knowing what to do.
Soon, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will walk up to the door and see Chelsea. Chelsea will want to go inside, but Adam will say that it’s too depressing in there. Chelsea will suggest they go home, and Adam will agree.
Adam will go back in the motel room, ostensibly for his jacket, but Sharon will be nowhere to be found. After Adam goes, Sharon will come out of the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Adam and Chelsea will go back to the penthouse, where Chelsea will acknowledge that she knows that Adam has been meeting with Sharon. Adam will apologize for telling Sharon, but not Chelsea, where he was.
Adam will then launch into a big monologue, clearly trying to tell Chelsea something, but it won’t be clear what Adam is trying to say. Adam will talk about the rage inside him, and how it grows until it crushes him.
Adam will say that it’s too late, and that it’s impossible to shut it down, and he’ll blame Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for keeping the truth from him for so long.
Chelsea will think that the answer is for Adam to come home and let his family help him, but Adam will say that it’s impossible, and that he can’t be the man who proposed to her and promised her a future. Adam will say that he can’t ask Chelsea to walk this path with him, and that they can’t be together – now or ever.
At Sharon’s place, Sharon will return to find Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) there. Things will immediately be tense between, and Sharon will learn that Rey shared her test results with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), and Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind).
Rey will go to leave, and Sharon will want him to stay the night. Rey won’t think that’s a good idea, and Sharon will tell him that there’s something she needs to tell him.
Sharon will disclose that she has been with Adam twice today, and Rey will be upset. Sharon will offer the usual excuses about her professional responsibility to Adam, but Rey will say that they should talk about this in the morning, and he’ll leave.
At Crimson Lights, Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) will get a call from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), and shortly thereafter the two will meet for coffee.
Billy will ask if Alyssa is following up on a story, and Alyssa will say that she is but that she’s encountering some roadblocks. Billy will offer to help, and Alyssa will wonder what Billy and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heine) are really after.
Billy will assume that Alyssa is still trying to protect Adam, but Alyssa will say that’s no longer the case. Alyssa will say that she wants to see Adam burn for what he’s done. “Well, that changes everything,” Billy will say. Alyssa will then reveal that she is at a standstill with the Kansas investigation, but that there are other crimes that Adam committed.
Alyssa will reveal that she’s working on a story about Adam having to do with his Vegas time. Billy will perk up and he’ll offer Alyssa no strings attached and no nondisclosure agreements to help her bring the Vegas story for life.
Alyssa will wonder what’s in it for Billy, and Billy will say that Adam’s a menace and it’s time he ends up in jail, or at least it’s time to warn the public about what Adam’s capable of. Billy will tell Alyssa that she’ll need the resources that he can offer her.
At the Grand Phoenix, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) will meet up in the lobby. Abby will be in good spirits about Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) buying her out of the hotel.
After gushing about that and enjoying some champagne, Chance will want to talk with Abby about something, and they’ll head up to Abby’s suite.
There, Chance will tell Abby about Alyssa and Adam being on a collision course, and he’ll be worried about what that will mean for Abby. Chance will suggest that Abby take a step back from him, since he’s “radioactive” where Adam is concerned.
Abby will be horrified, thinking that Chance is breaking up with her. Chance won’t want that, but he’ll be worried about Abby.
Abby will tell Chance in no uncertain terms that she can take it, and that he doesn’t need to scare her into leaving her. Chance will say that he doesn’t want to lose Abby, and Abby will tell Chance never to push her away again.
