The Young and the Restless Spoilers Recap: Monday, December 28 - Phyllis Gets Ammo Against Victoria - Amanda Calls Birth Mom

The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Monday, December 28, tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will be back in Genoa City after their trip to Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) boarding school.

Chelsea and Adam will be resolved to put the past behind them and focus on their future, once Chelsea’s brain surgery is over on New Year’s Day.

Meanwhile, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will find themselves bickering after Victoria chooses the Grand Phoenix for a business meeting.

Victoria’s presence in the hotel will upset Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick will blast Victoria for how she handled the hotel situation with Phyllis. Nick will even tell Victoria that she’s turned into the worst version of their father.

Over at Crimson Lights, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will confess to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) that she hasn’t even started to write the original song that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) are expecting at their wedding.

Mariah will think that Tessa needs some inspiration, and she’ll take Tessa out for a special day to remind Tessa about true love.

Elsewhere in Crimson Lights, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Chelsea will discuss Chelsea’s upcoming medical procedure. Chelsea will let it slip that Adam still feels guilty about her injury, and Chloe won’t understand.

Chelsea will quickly change topics, and the ladies will agree to continue to work together on their fashion brand, even after Chelsea and Adam move out of Genoa City.

On the patio, Phyllis will walk by as Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) is leaving a voicemail for Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) about the trouble that Gloria Abbott (Judith Chapman) is in.

Phyllis will hear that the situation involves Newman Enterprises and Victoria. Phyllis will look overjoyed to hear of potential trouble for Victoria, and she’ll approach Kevin pretending to want to catch up.

Phyllis will maneuver the conversation to Gloria, and Kevin will be about to tell Phyllis the whole story of Gloria and the flash drive when Chloe interrupts. Kevin and Chloe will promptly leave, and Phyllis will be bubbling with joy over possibly having found some information that could hurt Victoria.

Across town, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will stop by Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) place to give him more updates on her birth mother Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey).

As it turns out, Naya’s family will have been involved in politics, leading Amanda to speculate that Naya gave up her twin girls so that the family wouldn’t have a scandal. Amanda will also have found out that Naya’s daughter is named Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose).

Amanda will want nothing more to do with Naya, but Devon will think that Amanda should continue ahead and get answers rather than speculating about what happened back then.

Devon will think that Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) would want to know the real story, and he’ll push Amanda to see it through and to get answers.

Later, Amanda will head back to the Grand Phoenix, where she’ll pick up her phone and dial Naya’s number. Unexpectedly, Naya will answer, and Amanda won’t know what to do. Amanda will hurriedly hang up the phone, looking confused and startled.

Over at Society, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will encounter Adam as he’s picking up takeout. Adam and Billy will have words, each blaming each other for all the usual things.

Billy will gloat about being freed, and Adam will note that Billy made it easy for the cops to suspect him. Soon, Sharon will arrive, and things will be awkward. Adam will still be miffed that Sharon had him committed, and Sharon will try to explain herself.

Through their conversation, Adam will say that he and Chelsea are leaving town soon, and Sharon will wish Adam and Chelsea the best. Adam will say it’s nice to know that Sharon still cares, just as Rey walks up.

Rey and Adam will have some tense words as well, and then Adam will take off. Rey will wonder if Sharon’s ok, and Sharon will insist that she is and she’ll gush about how soon the restaurant will be transformed into their wedding venue.

Rey and Sharon will head back to Crimson Lights, where they’ll talk briefly with Chelsea, who will mention her upcoming medical procedure. On the patio, Mariah and Tessa will return from a romantic afternoon revisiting some places in town and reliving their romance.

Tessa will feel some songwriting inspiration come on, and she’ll head to back to the apartment to write Rey and Sharon’s wedding song.

Finally, Adam and Chelsea will meet back up at their penthouse, where they’ll share that they each bumped into Rey and Sharon. Chelsea will tell Adam that Rey and Sharon’s wedding is taking place on New Year’s Eve, just as she’ll be resting up for her medical procedure the next day.

Chelsea will be nervous about the procedure, and Adam will tell Chelsea that it will go smoothly and that they’ll live the rest of their lives together afterwards.
