The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Monday, November 2, tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) won’t feel like heading to the church for Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) funeral, as Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) urge him to come with them. Jack will ask for a moment alone in the mansion, and Ashley and Tracey will take off for the church.
Soon, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will show up at the door wondering if he was welcome at the service. Jack will say of course, and Theo will promise that nothing will happen between him and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) that day.
Jack will say that Kyle will eventually come around. Theo will then ask to see the “teardrop of love” necklace, and Jack will comply.
Theo will note that the ancillary stones from the larger gemstones went to make pieces for the rest of the family, and Jack will say that his intention was never to exclude.
Jack will wish that Theo would have been with the family when Dina passed, and Theo will say that means a lot. Jack and Theo will then take off for the church.
At Crimson Lights, Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) will bump into Kyle and she’ll say that she lit a candle for Dina that morning. Summer Newman (Hunter King) will arrive and roll her eyes since Lola and Kyle ere together.
Summer and Lola will bicker in typical fashion, and Summer will go to leave but Kyle will ask her to stay. Summer and Kyle will have coffee together and they’ll decide to get through the day on civil terms.
At Society, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) will gush about their future ahead of the service as Abby makes sure that things are just right for the reception afterwards.
Later, Lola will arrive and reassure Abby that everything is handled there and that she should go on to the service.
In Chancellor Park, Traci and Ashley will discuss their mother at length, musing about how they are both more like their father than Dina. Ashley and Traci will discuss how their mother left them and how they learned to forgive because of her.
Soon, Chance will arrive, and Traci will step away, leaving Ashley to thank Chance for supporting Abby and being there for her.
After the service, the Abbott family and Summer will gather at Society, with Lola hosting and Theo outside looking in the window wistfully. Various conversations will be had around the room, with everyone agreeing that all of Dina’s wishes were honored in the service.
Soon, Jack will call for everyone’s attention, as Theo walks in through the kitchen to make a surprise entrance. Lola will be worried about what’s to come.
Out in the dining room, Jack will say a few nice words about Dina, and everyone will stand and toast to Dina in a somber way. Suddenly, Theo will burst through the kitchen door, saying, “Good Afternoon, Abbotts!”
No one will really know what to do, and Traci will pipe up and say that she’s happy that Theo is with them now. Kyle will look mortified, as will Summer.
Theo will ask where the party is, since Dina was a woman who loved to have a good time. Theo will recount a story about how Dina loved the country club dances, and he’ll whip out a remote and turn on some old standards really loud.
Jack will bellow that it’s a great idea and Theo will get everyone dancing…except Kyle and Summer, who will each look put off.
Kyle will put down his drink and walk out, peering in the window at everyone dancing and having fun as he goes. Summer will run out after Kyle, tracking him down in Chancellor Park.
Kyle will moan that he’s being pushed out of the family by the Abbotts. Summer will think Kyle is being idiotic, and Kyle will gripe that Summer left him. Summer will try to reassure Kyle that his family can see right through Theo’s scams.
Back over at Society, the Abbott family plus Lola will be talking and laughing about Dina and her old stories. Chance will arrive, and Ashley will announce that DJ Theo staved the day. Off to the side, Theo will down a shot of tequila and look mischievous.
