The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Monday, October 12, tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will have a heated argument over Chelsea’s newfound desire to leave Genoa City.
Adam will accuse Chelsea of turning on him too, and through their conversation he’ll realize that Chelsea wants him to prove to her that he’s not the monster from the exposé. Adam will leave the penthouse upset.
Meanwhile, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will head out from her house to Crimson Lights for some alone time while Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) stays behind. Adam will find Sharon on the patio at Crimson Lights, and he’ll approach her saying that it wasn’t a coincidence that he ran into her tonight.
Sharon will urge Adam not to go there, but Adam will urge Sharon to stand by him in the way that Chelsea can’t.
Sharon will admit that she’ll never love Rey in the same way that she loves Adam, but she’ll insist that her love for Rey is strong.
Sharon will point out that she recently had to have a conversation with Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) about what Adam did years ago, and Adam will insist that he’ll make up for it.
But Sharon will stay firm with Adam, saying that she wants a life with Rey and that she must focus on her health. Sharon will tell Adam goodbye and leave.
Inside Crimson Lights, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) will have coffee with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Lauren will share a picture of her new nephew, and then talk will turn to the “teardrop of love” necklace.
Laura will say that she learned about a safe deposit box of her father’s in London that was not inventoried, and that she’s requested the contents be sent to her. Jack will be thrilled, and Lauren will chide Jack about finding true love himself.
At the Chancellor mansion, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will tell Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) that she has a special present for him – she’s going to let him name their newborn son.
Kevin will promise to do their new son proud. Later, Chloe will get a visit from Chelsea, who will break down over the stress of her earlier interaction with Adam and about having sent Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) to boarding school.
Chloe will think that holding her new baby might cheer Chelsea up, and Chelsea will hold the baby happily.
After Chelsea goes, Kevin will return saying that he has a name picked out, and that he’d like to name his son after his childhood neighbor who protected him from “Terrible Tom” Fisher (Roscoe Born).
The neighbor’s name was Miles, so their baby boy officially will become Miles Mitchell Fisher.
Over at the Grand Phoenix, a disheveled and forlorn Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will walk in to see Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Turns out, Kyle will have woken up alone on the morning of his wedding ceremony to Summer Newman (Hunter King).
Summer will have left Kyle with a goodbye note, and Kyle will relay all this to a very worried Phyllis.
Phyllis will immediately think that Kyle did something to scare Summer off, and Kyle will say that he thought he and Summer were better than ever.
Kyle will take off, and Phyllis will leave a voicemail for Summer, then she’ll call Jack, who will come rushing over to the Grand Phoenix.
Jack and Phyllis will bicker about whether Kyle did something to scare Summer away, and soon Phyllis will get a message from Summer in which it sounds to Phyllis like Summer is questioning herself.
At Society, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) will be enjoying a girls’ night out when Tessa lets it slip that Summer and Kyle are getting married.
Lola will reel, but she’ll rally, and suddenly Kyle will show up looking all droopy. Kyle won’t stay long, and he’ll learn that the ladies were celebrating Lola’s freedom that evening.
At Chancellor Communications, Chelsea will arrive to see Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), and he’ll immediately tell Chelsea that they have nothing more to discuss.
Chelsea will startle Billy by requesting to spend time with Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) out of the blue. Chelsea will explain that she misses Connor so much, and Billy will say that his son won’t be used as a substitute for Connor.
Billy will go on, fuming that Chelsea gave up her parental rights long ago, and that there was no way that his son was going to be a part of whatever this is. Chelsea will insist on spending time with Johnny, perhaps for a weekend, but Billy won’t be having it. Billy will order Chelsea to leave, and Chelsea will say that she’s not giving up on this.
Back at Sharon’s place, Sharon will return to Rey, and Rey will immediately sense that something’s off. Sharon will blurt out that she feels like Rey should ask her to marry him. Rey will be stunned, and he’ll wonder where this is coming from.
Sharon will say that she doesn’t want to wait, and that she may not survive cancer, but if she dies, she’d like to do so as Mrs. Rosales. “And if I live a long life, I’d like to do that as Mrs. Rosales,” Sharon will say.
Rey will tell Sharon that she’s going to live a long and healthy life, and that he’d be honored to be her husband. Rey will get down on one knee and ask Sharon to marry her, and Sharon will immediately and happily say yes.
Meanwhile, over at Adam’s penthouse, Adam will arrive home, but instead of going inside to see Chelsea, he’ll turn around and leave.
Back at the Grand Phoenix, Billy will be at the bar drinking when Kyle shuffles up. Billy will wonder what’s wrong with Kyle, and he’ll guess that it’s either about love or money.
Kyle will say that love sucks, and he’ll take off. The camera will then pan to across the lobby, where Summer will be watching from behind a magazine.
