The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Monday, October 19, tease that Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind), Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will all arrive at Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) house for a big announcement.
Sharon will share that her margins are clear and that she’s on the way to being cancer-free. Everyone will be thrilled except for Faith, whose reaction will be tepid.
At one point, Faith will step aside and send a text to someone saying, “Fam driving me crazy. Need to get out.” The person will text back saying, “Meet me at the spot later.”
Sharon will want Faith to spend the evening with her watching TV, but Faith will think that Sharon needs her sleep, and she’ll say that they can have a special night together tomorrow.
At Crimson Lights, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will be incognito and lurking as Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) calls Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to say that he left his Jabot badge at Society last night. Kyle, who will be at the Abbott mansion, will tell Lola that it’s the worst time, and he’ll abruptly hang up.
Kyle will rejoin the rest of his family in the Abbott living room, as Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) body has just been taken away.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will note to Kyle, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) that he feels loss, pain, and relief, all at the same time.
Everyone will agree that they feel overwhelmed, and Kyle will want to step out for some air. Jack will tell him to go, noting that everyone grieves differently. Jack will ask the rest of his family to wait until tomorrow to make arrangements, so that they can just remember Dina tonight.
Abby, Jack, Traci, and Ashley will have a nice conversation about Dina, and through laughter and tears they’ll note some of the poignant times with her. Ashely will tell a story about how Dina wanted made up one afternoon, and when Ashley was done with the impromptu makeover, Dina tipped her.
And Traci told about how she read Dina her latest novel last year, and Dina really enjoyed her writing. Viewers will then see a variety of flashbacks with Dina, including one from this past Christmas when Dina joined in singing, “Oh Come, All Ye Faithful.” Jack will offer a toast to Dina, for a life well-lived.
Kyle will head over to Crimson Lights, where he’ll encounter Lola. Summer will lurk from the porch while Kyle tells Lola that Dina just died. Lola will comfort Kyle, and Summer will get upset and end up knocking something over on the patio, then she’ll run out as Kyle rushes to see what made the noise.
Soon, Kyle will need to head back to the mansion, and as Lola exits, she’ll come face-to-face with Summer.
“This is exactly what you wanted, isn’t it?” Summer will fume at Lola. Lola will fire back that Summer left Kyle and now she’s spying on him, which will prompt Summer to say that she saw Lola’s text to Kyle when they were in Chicago trying to elope.
Summer will accuse Lola of trying to lure Kyle back, and Lola will say that she doesn’t want Kyle back.
Summer will accuse Lola of lying to herself about that, and Lola will say that all this stalking isn’t going to win Kyle’s heart back. “Good luck with that,” Lola will say before taking off.
Kyle will return to the Abbott mansion to find Jack alone. Kyle will apologize for running out earlier, but Jack will understand. Kyle will say that he’s glad that he was here for Dina during her final moments, and he’ll note that he wasn’t around when his mother died.
Kyle will tell his dad that he loves him, and Jack will return the sentiment in a nice father/son moment.
Later, Jack will be alone when Lauren Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) stops by. “How’d it go with Dina? Did she recognize the teardrop?” Lauren will ask. Jack will cry and say that Dina died shortly after he gave the necklace to her.
Jack will thank Lauren for helping with the necklace and for her friendship over the years.
At Society, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will talk briefly with Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). Chance will be worried about his inquiry in the morning, and he’ll hope that he’s able to become a cop again.
Rey will step outside to talk with Sharon via phone, and Sharon will note that she and Faith are going to bed early for the evening while Rey is on his stakeout.
At the Grand Phoenix, Abby and Chance will talk in Abby’s suite. Chance will listen as Abby recounts what happened with Dina that evening. Abby and Chance will decide to appreciate each other and cherish the good memories.
Abby will say that she wants to move forward with their plan to have a family, but Chance will caution her not to make a big decision under these circumstances. Abby will say that she’s already decided. “Let’s start a family,” Abby will say.
Down in the lobby, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will be at the bar when Kyle walks in looking emotionally spent. Theo will at first needle Kyle about Summer, but then he’ll realize that something’s wrong.
Kyle will tell Theo that Dina died tonight, and Theo will be crushed. Kyle will go on about how everyone was at the house, but Theo will interject that “everyone” wasn’t there.
Theo will fume that it would have been nice to say goodbye to his grandmother, and Kyle will try to say that Dina went quickly and that it wasn’t deliberate. Theo will say that he wasn’t viewed as part of the family. “So sorry for your loss,” Theo will say curtly as he walks out.
Kyle will head to the bar and call Lola to thank her for listening and talking about Dina. Kyle will note that Lola showed him compassion and understanding. Lola will almost tell Kyle about seeing Summer, but she’ll stop short. Kyle will then sadly head up to his suite.
Back at Crimson Lights, Traci and Ashley will talk about their mother over coffee. Traci will note that perhaps she was the first to be forgotten by Dina because it was easier than remembering all the pain in their relationship.
Traci will say that she’ll never forget how Dina told her that she’d never be forgotten. “She loved me. I will aways believe that,” Traci will say.
Elsewhere in the coffeehouse, Nick and Mariah will talk about how great it was to see Sharon so happy. But Nick will note that Faith’s attitude seemed off, like she was pretending to be happy to put on a show.
Mariah will think that it’s something to keep an eye on from a distance, and that they need to give Faith some space to work things out on her own.
Finally, back at Sharon’s house, Faith will sneak out of the dark house, texting someone that she’s on her way.
