The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Thursday, December 3, tease that Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will arrive at their honeymoon suite to find it not quite to their liking.
The place will be a dump – not the five-star resort that Chance was promised online. Abby will note that her handsome detective husband got ripped off.
Abby will decide to make the best of the situation, and she’ll spruce up the place a little. Thankfully, there will be food and champagne in the mini fridge, and Chance and Abby will remember their box of wisdom cards that everyone from the wedding made for them.
As they’re contemplating reading the cards, it will start raining outside, ruining their planned moonlight walk.
Then, when Chance goes to pull down the Murphy bed, there will be no bed – just an inflatable mattress that only partially inflates.
Abby will read Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) card about love being patient and kind, and Abby and Chance will decide to make the best of things, settling in for the night on the crappy air mattress and laughing.
At the Chancellor mansion, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), and Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) will sit and talk about the wedding and about Chance and Abby’s future, including where they might end up living and about them starting a family.
After some more talk about the “teardrop of love” necklace, everyone will disperse.
At the Grand Phoenix, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will be waiting to meet Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) for drinks when Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) comes along and introduces herself to him. Sally will talk herself up and mention that she’s at Fenmore’s now and that she used to lead Spectra Fashions in Los Angeles.
Billy will muse that he’d love to hear the story of how Sally went from Spectra Fashions to being Lauren’s gopher, and Sally will claim that she wanted a lifestyle change from the Los Angeles scene. Soon, Lily will arrive, and Sally will say that she kept Billy occupied while he was waiting, and then she’ll walk off to the bar.
Meanwhile, up in Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) suite, Kyle and Summer Newman (Hunter King) will discuss the wedding, which Summer had to miss. Kyle and Summer will decide to watch a movie, and Kyle will start “The Awful Truth,” which is an old-time comedy.
Summer will balk, but Kyle will say that he used to watch it with Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams).
Soon, the WiFi in the hotel will go down, and Summer will suggest that she and Kyle go to the Abbott mansion to finish watching the movie. As Summer and Kyle are on their way through the lobby to head to their car, Sally will see them and congratulate them on being back together.
Sally will also note that she’s available if Summer needs help with her position at Jabot Collective. After Summer leaves, Kyle will think that Sally was just covering up a few insecurities.
Across the lobby, Billy and Lily will sit and talk. Billy will rehash a bunch of details from the wedding, and about how Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) had Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) committed to a psychiatric facility.
Billy will note that he’s been looking over his shoulder a lot since being accused of shooting Chance, and that he should probably look for somewhere safe to sleep tonight. Lily will smile.
Soon, Lily will be ready to call it a night, and Billy will urge her to have one more drink with him. Lily will balk, but then she’ll suggest that Billy could walk her to her room to see what develops. Lily will walk to the elevator, and Billy will smile.
Over at the Abbott mansion, Summer will be sitting in the living room alone when Jack, Traci, and Ashley come in from the wedding reception. Ashley and Traci will promptly go to bed, while Jack stays to watch the movie with Summer and Kyle.
As the movie is playing, Summer will suddenly turn it off and realize that the plot of the movie is significant.
“This is us,” Summer will say, recognizing the main characters as being just like herself and Kyle. Kyle will smile, and Jack will beam, clearly happy that Summer and Kyle are back together.
Summer will step out of the room after the movie is over, and Jack will say that he’s proud of Kyle for not giving up on Summer. Soon, Kyle and Summer will head back to the Grand Phoenix, and Jack will be pleased.
