The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Thursday, November 5, tease that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will be gathered at the Abbott mansion awaiting the attorney to arrive for the reading of Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) will.
To everyone surprise, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will arrive having been invited by the attorney. Kyle will gripe about Theo being there, but Jack will allow Theo to stay, as long as he does nothing disruptive.
The lawyer will arrive, and she’ll announce that Dina wanted Abby to read the will aloud. Abby will read that the bulk of the estate is to be divided between Jack, Ashley, and Traci.
Kyle will get Dina’s art collection, and Abby will get Dina’s Paris apartment. Dina will have left a letter for Theo’s father, and the attorney will say that Theo gets that, along with the contents of a small box, which will turn out to be a pen.
Kyle will smirk. Kyle will crab at Theo, accusing him of being up to something by being there, and Jack will take Kyle aside and tell him to cool it.
Later, Ashley, Jack, and Traci will sit talking, and they’ll realize that they’re the older generation of the Abbott family now. Together, the siblings will vow to protect Dina’s legacy and to find ways to make the money do a lot of good in the world. “We’ll make you proud, mother,” Jack will say.
Meanwhile, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will have coffee at Crimson Lights. Lauren will offer Sally a position as her executive assistant, and Sally will accept happily, but when Lauren steps away, Sally will seem disheartened.
Later, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will try to avoid Sally in Chancellor Park, but Sally will call out to Summer and want to exchange contact information. Summer will be less than enthused.
Kyle will arrive, and Sally will realize that this is another ex of Summer’s. Sally will be enthused to meet Kyle, and after Sally walks off, Kyle will accuse Summer of being jealous.
Summer and Kyle will discuss what happened at the will reading with Theo, and Summer will say that she kind of feels sorry for Theo. Kyle will grump that Theo is a leech, and Summer will try to reassure Kyle that he’s the better man. Kyle will remain disgruntled.
Sally will head to Society, where she’ll leave a message for her sister Coco Spectra (Courtney Grosbeck), then she’ll spot Theo at the bar drinking.
Sally will think it’s awful early for a drink, and Theo will explain that he just came from the will reading and that he was cheated out of his inheritance. “It’s not over yet,” Theo will say.
Sally will think that it sounds like Theo’s got some plan, and Theo will say that Sally should know about plans and that he heard about what happened in Los Angeles. Sally will say that she was in a toxic relationship and needed a fresh start. Theo will know better.
At Jabot, Jack will be in the conference room when Sally arrives and shares that she’s Lauren’s new executive assistant. Sally will ask Jack about Jabot Collective, and Jack will say that it’s no longer a part of Jabot and that they decided to focus on what they do best – cosmetics.
Sally will eventually walk away and look disappointed.
Next, in some room somewhere, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will wake up on a cot. Chelsea will discover that she’s locked in the room, and it won’t take her long to realize that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) had her put there.
Chelsea will try to get out to no avail, then she’ll find some water in a little fridge and drink it. Soon, Chelsea will pass out, having been drugged via the water.
Meanwhile, Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) will arrive at the Chancellor mansion to see Chelsea, only to learn from Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) that Chelsea didn’t come home last night and that she isn’t responding to messages.
Over at Adam’s penthouse, Adam will be in possession of Chelsea’s purse and phone, and he’ll send a group text to Chloe, Chance, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach).
The group text will say that Chelsea needed some time away and that she’d be back in touch soon. Young Adam (Dane West) will appear in Adam’s imagination, asking Adam what he’s going to do to Chelsea and saying that he’s taking things too far.
Back at the Chancellor mansion, Chance and Chloe will get the text supposedly from Chelsea, but Chloe will be suspicious, since it doesn’t “sound” like Chelsea. At Chloe’s urging, Chance will head over to Adam’s penthouse saying that he’s looking for Chelsea.
Something will seem off about Adam’s behavior, and Chance will notice the box siting in Adam’s living room.
Chance will quiz Adam, and through conversation he’ll mention the group text, which Adam won’t ask any questions about. Chance will say that it’s suspicious that Adam is acting like he already knew what the group text says.
Adam will deny knowing anything about Chelsea, and Chance will promise to prosecute Adam to the fullest extent of the law if he had anything to do with her disappearance.
